Now that we know this team is struggling and hopefully going to get a high lottery pick, who do you think we should pick? Who do you think we should trade for? Who do you believe we could sign this offseason? Lets be realistic here. I would want the C's to draft either Jabari or Wiggins to play at SF. That way we could help our offense. Then trade Jeff Green and maybe something else for Omer Asik.
Starting lineup would be Rondo, Bradley, Wiggins/Jabari, Sully and Asik. Thats a pretty good young line up that will just get better over time. What do you guys think we should do?

I like this idea too.....i lean towards trying to get Gordon Hayward somehow, maybe trading bradley. GRANTED Bradley has gotten better but im intrigued by the Butler connection plus.. Rondo (6'1) Hayward (6' 8")  wiggins/parker(both 6' 8") Sully (6'9) Asik(7'0).....thats a BIG lineup! like HUGE!!!!!!!!! i also wanna keep Chris Johnson, Bayless, Fav and Hump.....and prly stuck with wallace(not awful really)

I'm not sold on Wiggins. I am sold on Embiid and Jabari and at this point I don't think the C's can pass on Embiid if somehow they come by the chance to take him.

Moving further down, I also like Exum and Vonleh.

I agree with you, Hayward would be a lot of fun on this team. Always liked the guy. Plus the Butler connection would be great to watch.

I definitely do like Embiid's game. What would your lineup be next year then?

My one concern with pairing Hayward and Parker would be defense. For me the ideal would be to keep and start AB if Parker is drafted and push for Hayward if Wiggins is drafted. Either way I still want to see AB stay a celtic.

Best case --

we draft Wiggins / Parker, trade Green/Bradley for Asik, and sign Hayward to a reasonable contract.

Rondo - Hayward - Wiggins - Sullinger - Asik

That sounds pretty darned good to me.

Is Hayward a FA after this season?

I would draft: Embiid, Parker, Wiggins

I would trade our pick if we couldn't get one of those provided the offer was good. For example if we got the 4th pick and Orlando got the 7th. I would trade our picks for their two lottery picks. Or I would trade for a good player to build around.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

not to split hairs but 'NOW'?  It's been a lot longer than now.   ;)

Realistic options: we're currently third worst record so going on the premise we don't get lucky in the draft and move up and we don't get leapfrogged, do the no-brainer and take whoever is left of Embiid/Parker/Wiggins.  If we do get leapfrogged by someone and get the 4th pick, take Exum.  I think Embiid is gone by the second pick.

If leapfrogged by more than 1 or if by some reason the team plays better and get a worse draft slot, look to trade the pick for an all-star level SG/SF.  Package it if needed but nothing close to overpaying.  Let the other teams overpay for the privilege of getting into the lottery of this draft.

so many other variables in play, it'd take a few pages to outline scenarios.  probably get a number of good ideas once the trading deadline has passed and people can then focus on who's left, who's new worth keeping and any new draft options that have been acquired.

I think you got to take the best scorer over the big man. Wiggins over Embiid, for example. All the contenders (except San Antonio) have that go to scoring threat (LeBron, KD, George, formerly PP & Kobe.

Having the big man seems to be second in terms of importance, though, really, I'll take either. I think it might create a log jam if we select another 6'9" PF like Randle, when we already have Sullinger. So, hopefully it's a 2 (Smart/Exum), 3 Wiggins or 5 Embiid.

It will also be really exciting to see what we get w/ the other 1st rounder.
