Outside of the top 5, I really want the Celtics to draft Nik Stauskas of Michigan -- at least based on how he's played the last month.  Last year he was mostly a spot-up shooter, and one of the best in the country at it.  This year, he's creating most of his shots off the dribble and getting good shots for his teammates at the same time.  He's pretty athletic, and a total gym rat.

Here is a video of all his scoring plays (points/assists) over the last three games, which were all against top-10 opponents.  Over that stretch, he's averaged 22.7 points per game, 10/19 from 2, 12/24 from 3, and 12/13 from the line.  He's also got a 13/5 assist-to-turnover ratio in those games, and added 11 boards, 3 blocks and 3 steals.  While this is better than his season averages, it's only a little bit better.  Chad Ford now has him in the top 15 of his big board, and he's entering player of the year discussions.  At 6'7", he offers great size from the two-guard.  At this point, it's questionable whether he'll still be around for our second pick (currently 19th), whereas just a month ago he looked like a 2nd-rounder if he came out.  But I think he's got the game to be a special offensive player.  He's been in video game mode for the last month, and against the top college competition.

I think you got to take the best scorer over the big man. Wiggins over Embiid, for example. All the contenders (except San Antonio) have that go to scoring threat (LeBron, KD, George, formerly PP & Kobe.

Having the big man seems to be second in terms of importance, though, really, I'll take either. I think it might create a log jam if we select another 6'9" PF like Randle, when we already have Sullinger. So, hopefully it's a 2 (Smart/Exum), 3 Wiggins or 5 Embiid.

It will also be really exciting to see what we get w/ the other 1st rounder.

I really like Wiggins, Jabari is more proven though

Best case --

we draft Wiggins / Parker, trade Green/Bradley for Asik, and sign Hayward to a reasonable contract.

Rondo - Hayward - Wiggins - Sullinger - Asik

That sounds pretty darned good to me.

I like your style.

I would want a little more than just Asik for Green/Bradley (late first?), but I could get on board with that.
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Parker, Emiid, Wiggins    ...if  I get a TOP three selection.......one of those

Draft ..... Hood from Duke with 2 overall pick.     ......move up to get him  or the Indy forward Noah ........

Add

Haywood.and Asik.  ......for Bass, Green, Bradley and picks

Sign Chris Johnson to a one year deal. ...soon.

Try and sign Clay Thompson away when his a rookie contract expires

Finally this won t be popular but I would do this ......cause Rondo is not worth max contract to THiS team .  He maybe max contract to a contender with Stars like Rockets or Miami .....where he doesn't have to shoot much......or Lakers .......

I would trade Rondo on Draft night for a top 5 pick in a heart beat ......if the offer was available and take one of the top point guards...... Smart or the Aussie

Disgree, talent being equal, you take the best big man every time.  This is the quickest, fastest, way to get to contender status.

Of course, that evaluation has to be made.  Looking the draft this year, the top three are have positives and minuses.  I am not a talent evaluator but looks to me that Embiid has the largest upside and downside.  May be worth the risk either way.   Parker is the safest, but also, in my view, the onewith the least upside.

But if you think Embiid is the real deal, then he is the choice.

Who would I draft?

I would like any of Parker, Wiggins or Embiid, but landing on the top 5 should be good enough for me. Whoever is available there will tremendously help us in the long run.

Who would I trade for?

I can dream can i? Andrew Bogut, I want him playing for Boston.

But in a more realistic view...

Greg Monroe should be good.
A non quitting Omer Asik.
Gordon Hayward

2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

i would draft any of the top 3 (wiggins/embiid/parker) in that order.

Then i would trade Rondo for a young mid-tier prospect (regardless of position) and Dante Exum.

there are a lot of players on my wishlist, and i don't know if it's at all possible. For example, i like Hayward, Drummond and someone mentioned Klay, but i don't know if any are available.

guys like Kevin Love and LMA are, IMO, impossible to acquire even if we give up Rondo or our projected top3 pick.

my 'vision' for next year is a young team that has a lot of potential, which is something you can't say about this year's squad, but still not expected to win. I expect heavy minutes for the two rookies: Wiggins and Exum who would both vie for ROY, and also for Sullinger.

Guys like Green, AB and the rest are expendable for me, if it means securing a nice defensive big or something. I would also want DA to sign some older players (keep Joel Anthony for vet min maybe?) on the team to mentor the young guys on the right habits and to provide guidance.
