It's obvious we are going to have a very good 1st round draft pick next summer.

Would you keep the pick or would you try to include it in a package for a big name player? (Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony, Joakim Noah, for example.)

Personally, I would rather deal the pick for an established name and see if we could pull off the same route we did in 2007 when we dealt for KG and Ray.

I think if Danny is planning on building around Rondo (as evidenced by giving him the captain seat) that he would like to put a couple big names next to him like he did with Pierce in 2007.

I also feel that would be the way to go as I feel keeping the pick and waiting on developing a rookie would only make our road back to the finals that much slower.

Rather get their quicker if possible.

Love to hear thoughts!

From another thread:

If the season ended today we'd have:

12% chance at #1
13% chance at #2
13% chance at #3
9% chance at #4
35% chance at #5
16% chance at #6

So basically a 38% chance of getting into the Top 3.  Statistically, it's more likely our pick ends up in the Top 3 than it ends up at #5.   ;)

MOre importantly... 98% chance at a Top 6 pick in a draft where the Top 6 include Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Joel Embiid, Dante Exum, Marcus Smart and Julius Randle.

Our pick has BY FAR the most trade value of any asset on this team... and that definitely includes Rondo.  If keep on this pace, that pick is pure gold.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

keep. this was the draft we've been waiting years for and we actually have a decent pic in a long time, a very good shot at getting #1.

there is no established name available. Kevin Love is ok but is not enough star power to get us over the hump, i believe he is a psuedo star, just look at his teams W/L record. Dwight howard is no longer available. the list of stars available is so short, that people who support trading the pick couldnt even name one person as an example to trade for.

Keep it unless a rival GM just throws the kitchen sink at you.  Which is possible - people are worked up over this draft, maybe somebody does something stupid.  But I'd expect to keep this pick ourselves.

You got to keep it. What has Kevin Love done with a pretty good team so far?  Unless he helps his team go to the WCF , then i wouldn't trade for him.

Top 5 picks are good and there are also gems all over the place after that. Vonleh has potential,  Gordon also (his team is 19-0, he deserves some credit), Jerami Grant looks like the next Serge Ibaka clone , Tj Warren like another paul pierce (his stats is ridiculous for a freshman) etc.

Imo i think danny is going to hit it out of the park, and draft us two long term pieces.
