I like this prospect alot. I think if we miss out on one of the premium forwards in the top 10, MH could be an option.

What worries me is that he might become like a brandon bass and not really have a true position In the nba. the good about this issue is that he can guard multiple positions(sf to c)

I like his intensity. Kind of like KG

Potentially can a lineup of Sullinger, Olynyk, MH work being on the court at the same time?

I'm intrigued by Harrell too. I think his position is definitely PF but they should just take him anyway if he's the best player available. If they get a guard with their first pick, Harrell would be a nice second pick. If they take someone like a Randle, then yeah maybe Harrell is too much redundancy.

I have to admit that I kind of want the Celtics to just take someone athletic with the second pick (Harrell, Walker) unless they are totally horrible at actual basketball.

I agree. It would be nice to use our 2nd 1st for harrell. But it could be too late. Someone will gamble in the 15-22 pick area imo. Just too much energy, motor, size and underrated skills to pass up

Harrell is bigger more athletic and less skill then bass. I think he is more 4/5 where bass has more stretch 4 skill set
Mavs
Wiz
Hornet

Not sure about less skill. While he doesnt have bass mid range jump shot he can pass better and drive to the basket with either hand

Reminds me of kenneth faried except he's alot bigger. I'm usually skeptical about 6'8 power forwards but for some reason i don't think he'll have a problem guarding nba power forwards. Maybe its because of his great wingspan and his explosiveness. I think he'll be a good player

Faried is a nice comparison. A bigger Faried with longer winspan (faried - 7'0, harrell - 7'4).

I've seen a few games of him playing and i agree with Draft express analysis that he plays with non stop motor. Very intense player. Reminds me of KGs. Having guys like these are nice bc with several over the top plays can pump up your team from the cold. It's an underrated trait

I'm really starting to warm up to this kid. Takes loses very seriously (and the team has lost only 3 times the whole year). Sounds like a leader. States several times that things need to be taken cared of in the defensive end.

What now?

Seems he got an increased reach now. 9'1 reach.

Reminds me of Ben Wallace, undersized in height, but long reach, really strong, and great motor. Better shooting touch than Ben too.  16 may be too high, but 28 is a no brainer. Maybe package 28 and 33 to move down a few notches to grab him if Danny sees him sliding...

Last week you criticized me for wanting him at 28 if available, saying you preferred a couple of other guys, including a Bowling Green guy.  What gives, triboy??

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I've always loved Harrell. He almost certainly is at least a rotational player in the NBA and, at where he will be picked, that will be a success. I am not sure I would take him with #16 (which is where he was thought to go earlier in the year), but I would trade 28, 33, and 45 to move up into the low 20s to take him or RHJ.
