Green is worth a 1st rounder in my opinion. Even if it's not a first rounder, it not worth taking a older guy. That's not getting any assets back at all

Our 2nd is basically a 1st rounder, except with more contract flexibility.

I'm probably in the minority on this, but I would do this if it we're a Green / Bass package. Of course, i have no idea why Dallas would do it.

Vince Carter would need to be added to make the numbers work.

No, if I trade Green for an expiring I'd want one or two decent young players with the potential to contribute in the future.

But I like your idea of trading Green for cap relief and some future value.  I don't see Green's value going up in the future.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I'd deal him for Monroe. That's really the only trade rumor floated that makes sense to me

No.

Those two second round picks aren't very valuable. If we're trading Green for an expiring we need to get value for him.

Well, cap space certainly has value. Since the Celtics will be under the cap, they could use that space to sign or absorb a different player who might be better than Green.
If you're salary dumping Jeff Green you should get something better than 2 second round picks.

Also we won't have that much space. We'd have 39.2 million with just our players currently under contract. Then we'd have to consider resigning Bradley, roster cap charges, and paying our two first round picks. Our own pick could be pretty pricey since we're looking at a high lottery pick at our current record.

You're right, I forgot about Joel Anthony's extra 3.8 million. That move alone suggests Ainge is looking more to the 2014-15 season and offseason to make a move.
