I hate losing but i know in the long run this is better for the team.

These are the kind of games if we play the rest of the year but lose, i can live with

And about CJ. WHO is this guy??

I was surprise to see he is 6'5 with 6'11 wingspan and 34.5 no step vertical. Prob has likely 37-38 max vertical

He is known to be an above avg three pt shooter (went 2-5 today). Some nice skill with finishing high on the Bird man, nice passing. And pretty good defensive plays with a few nice steals.

At this rate, kid is a keeper.

well, it would be quite the story for him to make the team. a sort of basketball version of wally pip.  :)

but lets wait a least a few games before getting too excited about him. i wish him luck.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Vander Blue coming next fresh off of dropping 35 in the D-League. The guy could score in college?

Probably half the D-League is just siitin' by the phone right now waiting for Danny to call.

I'm a big Vander Blue guy. Loved him at Marquette. Scoring points like a mad man down in the D-League.

No, Johnson actually plays defense.

absolutely.  the way he played tonight exposes why AB is not our starting (or closing) SG of the future.  CJ showed better passing, court awareness and ball handling than AB has, especially at the end of games.

I'm not expecting CJ to play like this all the time but I do believe this is the type of play in this game that we need from a starting/closing SG if we're to get back to being a contender

Without question. I think its beyond debate that AB would not have made many of the smart basketball plays that Johnson made tonight. For all of AB's strengths, and I'm told their are many, he's got some glaring weaknesses, basketball IQ, passing and awareness chief among them.

Naww. Doesn't look it. Brooks has handles and scoring, this Chris Johnson guy seems to rely on his hustle and has a weak right hand (from the little I've seen).

But young SGs wearing the Celtic number 12 have gotten better and better. Von Wafer --> Brooks --> Chris Johnson. Maybe if we keep at it we'll get a franchise player eventually with number 12.

From what I saw of Brooks this year, his ball handling skills weren't very good.  He is a good shooter, but good ball handler? Umm not so much.

I like CJ a lot more after one game than anything I saw from Brooks here.  CJ looked like he cared.

Showed excellent quickness. He is a better 3 point shooter than Brooks and better defender.

Actually Brooks does have some pretty good handles-- that along with scoring are his only true strengths. It's tough to judge Brooks much based upon this year, because he hardly played, but if you go back to his rookie yr in Jersey, he had plenty of playing time to put his handles on display.

One memory that does come to mind of Brooks and his ball-handling this yr is a game where he was playing in garbage time (obviously) and took the ball coast to coast, with a nasty behind the back crossover, right before laying it in. Not sure if anyone remembers that play. I can't think of many other examples of his ball-handling skills this yr, cause he played so sparingly.

I absolutely agree with you though, on the fact that Chris Johnson had a better game tonight than any performance Brooks had all season. Although he probably just about matched Brooks season high for minutes played tonight too haha.
