Sam Smith of the Chicago Bulls (Parker's hometown) reported that Parker may stay for another season at Duke, while Dana O'neil of ESPN did a piece exploring the idea that Embiid may not be ready for life in the NBA.

I don't keep up with the draft, but I guess it's something to pay attention to for right now.

I'll believe it when it actually happens.  These guys are guaranteed to go in the top 3 of the draft.  Too much money at stake.

GG tankers  ;)

But seriously, there's just no losing with this team.

OMG they're gonna stay??? Well then our 2015 Clippers (and 6ers) pick(s) just got that much better.

False rumor? Don't fret, got TWO picks in 2014 as well.

Converting our expirings (like Hump) into 2014 picks would be easier as well with the value of said picks fluctuating if the rumor were true.

Tank? Then add a star. Team playing "too well"? Well then guys like Humphries are looking really really good.

Some people are so hellbent one way or another. Don't know why. I say enjoy the ride.

Ainge's acumen in the business of basketball, ranking prospects, management (hired Ron Adams, Brad Stevens, WALTAH) and other important aspects in GM'ing are incredibly impressive. Add to that the fact that he's 100% backed by Wyc. This is a well oiled machine.

Anyway, all your trade chips are belong to us.

With the talent at the top, there might not be a consensus #1.  That said, a lot of the top prospects for next year's draft are centers.  This year, Embiid is certainly the top center.  Next year, someone could rise above him.  Might not, but he's got this year locked up.

Agreed. Much ado about nothing until Parker's officially off spreading the good word in South America or somewhere like that.

They have the biggest opportunity of their lives dangled an inch from their faces, and they are choosing to go sit in classrooms?  Here's hoping there is no injury otherwise they will regret that decision for the rest of their lives.  College education is (big) business in America, so is the NBA.  Decide which one benefit you the most...

Maybe they hate capitalism.

Possible but relatively unlikely--the lack of facial hair is a dead giveaway.

Sorry if this is not the first mention but this goes towards him mental makeup. Right or wrong (there really is no right or wrong in a young man and what HE decides to do)...this is gonna make him NOT be the #1 pick without a doubt. Both of them if this is true have just shot themselves in the foot. From a draft P.O.V If I'm Ainge I see a little of Jeff Green in Parker.

That's a compliment for Green but a terrible insult for Parker.

Parker and Embiid will stay, C's will get the first pick, take Wiggins. He'll be a bust because we're at times ironic with luck like that.

What exactly do you see that is similar?

Parker is a average to above average athlete who is big and strong for his position, his strengths are creating his own shot for himself off the dribble, his rebounding and his post play.

Green is an uber athletic wing that at first struggled to create his own shot and is now decent at it, he mostly shoots 3's or drives the lane. Hes an above average defender and poor rebounder and play maker.

I don't see the similarities.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.
