James Yong, Tj Warren, Rodney Hood, Russ Smith
Not saying draftexpress is always right or he hasnt improved but TJ warrens weakness was inability to create his own shot.
James young hasnt been very good so far. But he is only a freshman. Havent seen him able to really create his own shot. Or create and make it
Smith can. Questions if he can in the nba
Hood can. Prob thats why he is ranked high on most mock drafts.
Draft express too funny. TJ Warren strength is being able to create his own shot. One of the top and most efficient scores in the country. 22 PPG this year on 51% shooting. 23 plus a game against Missouri, Pitt and Duke.
Led the ACC in shooting percentage last year as a freshman and had second highest FG % of all time in NC State history. 64% from the field in the ACC as a freshman and he takes some tough shots.
Leading scorer at 1# HS team in country at Brewster Academy, which will likely have four NBA first rounders from that team.
I really wonder where they get this stuff.
Not sure. I was channel surfing before and did see him operate vs duke or pitt?. He knows how to play. Really savvy. But imo he is a more excellent team sf vs able to create his own shots. He has a nice one to two dribble then mid jumper like pierce though. And he can finish alot of passes thrown at him. Didnt really see him take it into the hole on his own
Reminds me of matt harpring. Just quietly killing you by the end of the game. But When you really need that last bucket and the defense is tight, im not sure
I have seen TJ play at least 15 times in small gyms against world class 19u players. First noticed Warren in a game I attended when he got 34 effortless points against Tilton School (Nerlens Noel and Wayne Selden.)
Nothing like Harpring. He is almost 6'9" and is a tough inside out player. Reminds me more of Chuck Person (without the deep threes) or even a bigger Pierce. Obviously not as good as those two at this point, but he can score with anybody. His game and build will translate well to the NBA I think although NC State is a mess. You will say "NO WAY", but I think he is close to Parker. Parker is more explosive, but Warren is more crafty. Good rebounder too.
Assuming you live in Boston area, it is a shame you did not see him play. Brewster won National Championship in 2011-12 and Warren played at least 25 of his games in the general area (mass and NH). With TJ Warren, Semaj Christon, Mitch McGary and Jakarr Sampson Brewster was the best HS team I have ever seen, although Tilton School was close.
Has tj warren gotton better since hs? Bc nc state is not a big program
I believe u about waren as a good player. His stats speak for themselves. But the question is about shot creation.
Usually it takes a sound inside and outside ability to be a good shot creator. You need a handle of some kind. Thats why mcdermott as prolific scorer as he is, has weak handles and not considered a good shot creator.
Tj warren again real crafty. One pass down low he knows how to flip shots in(like mcdermott). U rarely see a sf able to shoot lob shots in also. But you give him the ball on top of the three pt line, 30 sec left, down by 2, can he get you the bucket? It doesnt have to be 30 sec left in a game but if its a tight game and ur exchanging baskets, can he get u the crucial buckets?
