I agree that Jeff Green has a boatload of potential that he doesnt seem to be putting to use.

However, if you take a player averaging 16 and 5 shooting 44% and 37% from three and put him next to a number one franchise guy or as a third scoring option...Thats pretty deadly.

He isn't a number one option that's clear and he is playing out of his role here in Boston with the squad we have. Averaging 13 shots a game is something you can expect from a number 2 or 3 option. At 9 mil a year 16 and 5 is pretty good. But we are asking him to and expecting him to do more.

Green is Shooting 33% from the field over the past 3 or 4 games. He is not what the Celts hoped he would be. Trade him for picks or cap relief. With all the draft choices over the next 3 years, Green will never be missed. He has no aggression. In my opinion, with Sully you have a strong rebounder and scorer. We need a rim protector, once we have that, then the other pieces will fall into place. Kelly O, has a lot of potential, but he will never be able to play the 5 on a championship caliber team. Danny has assets, Keep Bradley, Kelly O and Sully, and build around them. Trade Rondo, by the time we are contenders, he'll be 30. Build the core for a 10 year run.

this is a team game

BEST player in last years play off games.
also the highest scorer.

Best player on the team this year so far.
also the highest scorer.

Get disappointed with ANY ONE else (except the captain during rehab).

Do you really think replacing Green with Rudy Gay, or Luol Deng, or Danny Granger could squeeze more than 14 wins out of this squad?

I love Green and hope him the best.  POINTS!

someone has already mentioned they'll take Deng, i wanna add that i'll take Rudy Gay over Jeff Green as well. Ever since the trade to Sacramento, he's been tearing it up.

I totally disagree Green has a boatload of potential.  Hid narrow shoulders and frame unlike Pierce making it very difficult to post up and rebound.  He has average at best vision and passing ability.  Not very good with his left hand, and average at best again dribbling ability for a 3 man. Very subpar lateral quickness and footwork.  He has great straight line speed if he is able to get a step on his man, but all those other things hold him back from being an elite player.

Like many, I root hard for Jeff Green.  He is the #1 guy I watch when he is on the court and I continually look for  evidence of his value. I am often frustrated by his lack of movement on offense and his frequent aggression lapses.

I constantly give him benefit of doubt and at each turn I have said "wait until...".  So now I say wait until.. he has some time with Rondo.   As a floor general and team captain, Rondo may make Green a better player by coaching him on the court.   But my belief in Green is waning, and I would not be disappointed in seeing him traded for  valuable assets.   Where I used to think he was slightly overpaid, I now think he is overpaid by a fair amount -- I see him much more as a 5-7M player than a 9M player.   Anyway, I'll continue to root for him.

Disappointed part 2.

Danny should of traded him after the 39 point performance

Did he even drive to the basket once tonight? What is with him and chucking the threes

I'm not blaming the game on him but as a guy who makes the money he does, you would think some consistentcy would result

As predictable as a fly to poo.... Green looks stoned the night after he goes strong.

8 of his 17 shots tonight we're 3s. 2 rebounds? 1 assist? 1 of 8 from 3? Todd Day style. Can't wait for this dude to get shipped. Neither can Stevens, presumably.

I just think that, with this roster in transition like it is - we shouldn't be disappointed in Jeff Green at all.

He has shown flashes of greatness - this year and even more last year.

Didn't he lead us in scoring in the playoffs?

This roster, as it is now - is subject to have just about anyone traded, moved, etc...

For me, I'm just enjoying the ride and looking forward to whatever Danny has in store for this roster over the next few years, and enjoying Jeff Green in BOS right now.

dead on comparison. I forgot about that chucker . But he had some really good games, just like Green does

Green is one soft player.

The guy only plays well sometimes or when he feeds off KGs intensity or praise. Definitely not a self starter

I would have posted the link to the Avery Bradley-o-Meter. But the image got taken down *by imgur.

Jeff Green deserves the meter more.

Typical Green game. Scores a couple of nice hoops early, disappears for three quarters, then hits a few hoops in garbage time. Go get 'em, Jeff.
