And that's straying from the initial premise--I'm not saying that Carmelo's a better investment now, I'm saying that through the first six years.

Call me when the Love-lead TWolves finish a season over .500. Or make the playoffs. I'll take either.

I agree with you - Love is severely overrated as a franchise guy.  (So is James Harden for that matter, but that's a different topic).  Melo used to be overrated but now among serious fans he's so known for being overrated that he's back to underrated.

I have no idea how anyone can slap the "loser" label on Carmelo but not on Love without personal biases playing a major role.

I'm equally at a loss.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

the tnt guys were talking melo last night and pointing out why the knicks have turned their ways around lately. they broke it down nicely I thought and agreed with what was said and i'll paraphrase as best I can:

there's a good carmello where the decision making of what needs to be done is done in 3 sec's. that's the good melo.

the bad melo is after 3 sec's with the ball still in his hand, forget about that possession.

so during this stretch where the knicks are playing better the good melo has been present.

and I thought this is all good and all but....I've heard this analysis before from these guys. so at almost 30 yrs old we expect to see this guy to finally get it? and not fall into old habits? im sorry but if we get this guy it's a step back. let someone else make this mistake.

Agreed!  Expecting Melo to turn into the 'good Melo' just because he dons Celtic green is as hopeless as hoping that Antoine Walker would become the 'good Walker' with better coaching.  Ain't gonna happen.

If we acquired Melo, we would get an overpaid scorer, who doesn't play a lick of defense, and who is a blackhole offensively.  No thanks.  I'm not willing to pay the assets, current and future, to bet on a franchise built around Carmelo Anthony.

This would be my worst nightmare. No thanks. If you want to create a winning culture, team, and future, you need winners on the team. Carmelo Anthony is nothing more than a glorified chucker.

I was hoping this was just some joke thread idea - i'll include in my evening prayers a request that Danny Ainge is surely not so stupid (and so egotistical) as to have any desire to put Carmelo Anthony in Green & White.

Anthony has been poison everywhere he has been in the NBA - he is a Me-First player and he is NOT A CELTIC.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

But I'd rather have Melo than Green right now; Green is the anti-Melo;
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;
