Please tell me, in which statistic areas is Asik a significant enough improvement over Humphries that it justifies a youngrebuilding team giving up $12M in expiring contracts for him?
I see only one statistical area in which Asik is better on a per 36 min basis and that is rebounding - about 12 per 36 for Asik and about 10 per 36 for Hump.
Hump averaging more blocks, similar assists, more points (he is far superior to Asik offensively) and I'm pretty sure he has a higher Per and +/- as well, along with being a consummate professional as a teammate all season long (while Asik has been whining like a cow on the Rockets bench).
Hump is about the same age as well, abd has similar upside (i.e. both pretty much are who they are).
When are you people going to realise that Asik is a turd of a player with a Platinum price tag? Any minor gain in player ability (if any) that we get by trading Hump for Asik is far, far outweighed by the loss of a big expiring contract which would have given us at least SOME flexibility this off-season.
