  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

How about Bass and Crawford for Kravtsov, Smith and Christmas?  (with a 1st rounder going to Boston)

That's an interesting idea. None of the guys coming back have guaranteed money for next year, so it's essentially Bass for expirings and a 1st rounder.

Plus it clears additional money off this year's books. I think it would create yet another good-sized TE.
as well as weaken the team for the rest of this year for a higher pick.  depends on what pick they send us of the 4 they have.
I could live with lottery protected (or top 12) but would require it be their best non-lottery pick no lower than 18 or else they have to kick in a second rounder with it.  one of their picks should fit in that range.

For Bass and more flexibility to use the Pierce TE, take the worst of the Suns number 1 is more then enough.
that's not enough.  they could care less about our TPE from PP.  Bass alone is worth more than a late first rounder.  Adding in Crawford is worth at least a pick between 12-18 in this draft.  what they're sending us is crap so there's really no incentive to take them on to improve Phoenix's roster with a couple of rotation players.

They're sending us expirings- the whole point is we move Bass and get a pick for Crawford.
Bass is at best worth a middle-late first rounder in a normal draft, but in the 2014 draft he'd be lucky to get the 25th pick.

You can't ask for more when you:
*move Bass's deal for expiring's and get out of all that money in 6 months, and THEN

*move Crawford (who expires in 6 months) for a pick

They'd only do this to keep their playoff run alive but they're taking on Bass for another year.

Don't be so greedy guys!
Can't see them wanting Bass anyway.
Best piece to move for a pick would be Green with Crawford for expirings and a solid mid first rounder. Green would do very well in that uptempo system with Dragic and he also stretches the floor- he'd be an upgrade over Frye.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

You are greatly inflating the values of Bass and Crawford. Again, to bring up Deng: all Chicago might have to show for a two-time all star - who is easily better than Bass and Crawford - are three second rounders. Also, I don't see how you can say Crawford is worth a mid first round pick when he could essentially be a rental for the rest of this season; no one's giving up such a prime asset for a streaky guard who can leave in a few months.

There is absolutely no way Bass and Crawford are deserving of a first rounder each. I agree with LooseCannon; the best bet would be a second rounder each for both guys.

If Danny landed cap relief and any #1 for Crawford, I agree with others that it would be a steal.

Any future value for Crawford would be a steal, since I doubt he has a future here.

If Danny gets more in return for Crawford than he paid for him (an expiring contract), then that's pretty brilliant.

I actually don't mind this idea at all as long as we get at least on of their 1st rounders.

Maybe this is more realistic.

Green and Crawford for Frye, Kravtsov and a 1st rounder.

Both would still be on the books next year, but it cuts down the Celtics payroll even more this year, getting closer and closer to being able to use a large portion of that TE.

For Phoenix, it adds Green.  Crawford can play some of the minutes that Bledsoe was playing.  It doesn't effect the cap space they are creating next season.

The first trade I would consider, but Phoenix wouldn't do it.

This one I wouldn't even consider.  If Phoenix gave us a first round pick they would no doubt give us the least valuable one they have, and that wouldn't get us much of a return in the draft.

Jeff Green is an athletic and relatively young 6'9" small forward who averages 18 Points Per 36 and who is possibly a top 5 (most definately top 10) defender at the SF spot.

Even in a draft that's as loaded as this one, you would still need at least a top 12 pick if you want a decent chance of acquiring a player of that calibre via the draft.

You would also pay at least $8M to $10M to sign a player of that calibre via free agency.  Just look at the type of money guys like Mayo, Evans and Derozan are making - neither one of those guys has the length or defensive ability that Jeff Green has.

The way I see it this rebuild is a 2-3 year project, so may as well hold on to Green until the end of the 2004-2005 season.  At this time both Green and Wallace have their contracts expire, and about $19M comes off the books in one go.
