Maybe this is more realistic.
Green and Crawford for Frye, Kravtsov and a 1st rounder.
Both would still be on the books next year, but it cuts down the Celtics payroll even more this year, getting closer and closer to being able to use a large portion of that TE.
For Phoenix, it adds Green. Crawford can play some of the minutes that Bledsoe was playing. It doesn't effect the cap space they are creating next season.
The first trade I would consider, but Phoenix wouldn't do it.
This one I wouldn't even consider. If Phoenix gave us a first round pick they would no doubt give us the least valuable one they have, and that wouldn't get us much of a return in the draft.
Jeff Green is an athletic and relatively young 6'9" small forward who averages 18 Points Per 36 and who is possibly a top 5 (most definately top 10) defender at the SF spot.
Even in a draft that's as loaded as this one, you would still need at least a top 12 pick if you want a decent chance of acquiring a player of that calibre via the draft.
You would also pay at least $8M to $10M to sign a player of that calibre via free agency. Just look at the type of money guys like Mayo, Evans and Derozan are making - neither one of those guys has the length or defensive ability that Jeff Green has.
The way I see it this rebuild is a 2-3 year project, so may as well hold on to Green until the end of the 2004-2005 season. At this time both Green and Wallace have their contracts expire, and about $19M comes off the books in one go.
