TJ Warren compared to Paul Pierce

One of these darkhorse prospects climbing up the mock drafts. Reading some articles about him, he is compared to paul pierce. And watching the clip above, there is definitely some resemblence. His body is a little pudgy but with a strong looking frame like Pierce also.  What impresses me the most is his stats (link below). Its good avg 23 pts a game, good fg per, rebounding numbers, consistent. Looks like a guy who takes care of business. Doesn't have great athleticism, quickness, but good strength, good body control, smooth and can finish through contact.  Thoughts?

I definitely see the similarities. Pretty impressed by this video. He looks like he knows how to play and has a good IQ. Wouldn't mind snagging him with the Brooklyn pick in the late teens, early 20's.

I agreed with your thread yesterday, esp regarding Warren and Kyle Anderson, and added another of my value picks in the underrated Selden.

Selden is better than Wiggins now. In the long run maybe not, but he is now and is also a freshman. Had a great game last night against Oklahoma diving to the floor, showing great court presence, for the most part played within himself, but got carried away once or twice.

Lots of value, as you said yesterday, from 10-25. If we got 8,9, or 10, I would trade down for two picks in the higher range. I know Charlotte has potentially 3 picks and Phoenix, I believe has multiples. Anyone else?

definitely. Love the clip of him throwing floaters and baby hook shots in tight situations. He knows how to score.

The two dribble, stop for a mid range jump shot is vintage pierce.

If we draft embiid and miss out on Parker, Warren could be a nice backup plan sf pick.

not sure , but your plan definitely could work. Trade our two for three picks and draft for example Selden, Cauley Stein or Mcgary and Warren. Or Anderson , Gordon, Markel Brown. Your plan is especially good if we trade most of our vets, don't bring back Jcraw, AB and have to fill out the roster almost from scratch.

I'll add me some LeBryan Nash in here.

He's not tearing it up, but his physical tools is NBA level.

He has the potential to be the next Lance Stephenson, in a sense that there are questions with their maturity and attitude but not their skill level. Well, the styles are different but he, like Stephenson, have the tools to be good. Athletic and quick, solid shooter too. NBA ready when it comes to physicality (according to DraftExpress atleast).

He's projected at 2nd round. I think he's a safe gamble at late first if he comes out.

There is no way TJ should slide into the second round.  That is insane.  Offensively, he is one of the MOST polished offensive players in the country!!

He could certainly work on his defense.  Not bad there, but not good either.

BTW, I am an NC State fan and my brother and my oldest graduated from there.

Even though he needs to work at defense (you can always work on it), the effort is there.  If he can keep his stats going until the end of the year/into the tourney, i wouldn't be surprised if he gets chosen 14-20. Definitely 1st round pick

Teams though might be scared that Warren might be your perfect college player and in the nba could struggle against the cream of the crop. It's not everyday you see the likes of Zach Randolph be a star in the nba.
