To change the subject slightly, Durant is somewhat quietly putting together one of the best statistical seasons ever.
He's averaging 30/8/5, essentially. The big change over the last two years for Durant has been his playmaking which has really improved.
He's pretty close to a 50/40/90 which is amazing considering his shooting volume. He's around 1.5 spg and 1 bpg.
For comparison, the closest match to Durant's year statistically is probably Bird's 1987-1988 campaign:
http://bkref.com/tiny/LFRpiThat was perhaps the best season ever statistically for an SF (along with LB's own 1986-1987 season), at least until Lebron came along. Durant is pretty close to those numbers, even outranking LB on TS% and getting pretty close in terms of rebounding and assist percentages.
Lebron's having his own amazing year, particularly from a shooting efficiency standpoint, but I feel like Durant is getting under-appreciated if that's possible.
