Knicks guard J.R. Smith was fined $50,000 for recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct for trying to untie an opponent's shoelace.

J.R. Smith untied Shawn Marion's shoelace and was warned by the NBA, but attempted to repeat the action in last night's game and was fined.

He's a joke..lol. So the league warned him after he untied Marion's shoe (fair) and then hours later he attempts to do the same exact thing against Greg Monroe. Well he earned that fine..smh.

No they didn't, but it's not about the act (in my opinion), it's the fact that they warned him hours ago and then he decides to test them by do the exact same thing anyways. He deserved the fine for being that stupid.

The fines not about the shoelace, it's because they already warned him about and he goes and does the same thing hours later..he's an idiot.

That's at least somewhat different by virtue of the fact that Wade has the semi-plausible defense that a shoe lying on the field of play can cause someone to trip.

I know they have no depth whatsoever right now, but at some point you have to send this guy home or bench him. If you're losing with him anyway you might as well put in the guy who works hard and listens to the coach.
