You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

You know you're just perpetuating those tanker stereotypes when you start threads like this, right?

My gosh, 4 teams under .500 are currently on track to make the playoffs!

Half the playoff teams in the East. Yikes.

I anticipated this response; you'll note that I did not jump for joy or say anything along the lines of I TOLD YOU SO!

I just noticed it when I checked the standings and figured I'd post it.

The Celtics, 10th in the East, are 4.5 games behind the 3rd seed, and yet only 3 games out of the 14th spot (2nd worst record).  This really is a crazy season.

With New York gaining traction and Deng going to the Cavs, it would be interesting where we'll end up in the Standings come February.

Well, I'll say it. After our first game this month I predicted a 1 win month! By Feb 1 only the Bucks will have a worse record.  Not happy about it, but it does come with it's rewards!  January sched is just brutal!

I really hope that by the end of the season Brooklyn and Atlanta are in the lottery.

Not a tanker, more of the idea get better at what ever cost, so right now a better draft pick helps us so I will take it.

Lee getting traded should hurt us, he was playing very well IMO, if we could ever get the Asik trade done that would be great. A big man rotation of Asik/Sully/KO would be very good I think. Hopefully it would take a while to build chemistry to keep us in a good draft slot.

Lets hope Philly passes us and the Cavs should improve, Nets seem to be doing a little better. We do have to worry about Chicago sliding down, but if they can stay healthy they should stay ahead of us.

Milwaukee
Utah
Orlando
Sacramento

Are the teams that will be hard to be worse than it seems at present time.

You were jumping for joy on the inside, we could tell.

  Tanker.

Seriously, though, rooting for teams like the Nets or Knicks to do well would be almost as soul-sucking as rooting for the Celts to lose.

I still think Brooklyn wins the division and with the Deng trade I think the Bulls and Cleveland will both make the playoffs...

Haha.  Was it my body language that gave it away?

Yeah, it's a weird state of affairs to be sure.  Coming into the season I thought that rooting for the Nets, at least, would not be so bad, what with KG and Pierce there.  But the Nets are just depressing.

I just don't trust that team yet. They have to players to be ahead in the standings for sure, but I wonder how they're going to do with DWill being out with an ankle sprain.....again.

My only feelings for the Nets is sympathy for KG.

I hate the NBA right now.

tons of talent in one conference, the other conference all the talent split between 2 teams.

sure there's injuries to account for but still.
