my point is Danny will make a move to trade young assets for bigger pieces.. Im not really comparing players more of grading assets from that offseason to this offseason..
The trick is that it takes two teams and a disgruntled star who wants to go to your team to make that happen. Right now i dont see any matches. Perhaps this will be different in a year or 2.
Sacramento is trying to acquire the highest talent possible. Cousins is considered a top 10 center. They are committed to making things work with him.
Lamarcus Aldridge isn't going anywhere. Portland is contending for a title, and boston has nothing to offer them in exchange.
Golden state really likes Thompson, and will have restricted rights on him when the time comes, he isn't going anywhere.
Kevin love is clearly not happy in Minnesota. Boston doesnt look much better an option at this point.
Greg Monroe is a possibility, and comes down to whether Detroit or any other team thinks he is worth a max contract. If Detroit thinks he is worth it, he also isn't going anywhere.
The Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen trades were a perfect storm. Yes it can happen again. But so far no one outs there looks as attainable as those two were.
Carmelo could be an option. But i am not sure if he is really worth over 20 million per year.
