Khem Birch - anyone know much about him??

On youtube , he looks like a cross between Bosh and Faried. Explosive off the ground , quick and has some bulk

I'm liking Smart more and more.  His defense is truly outstanding.  His lateral quickness, hands and defensive intensity are excellent.  He also has the size, strength and length to clamp down on 2-guards.  His defensive versatility in a point guard package is reminiscent of Jason Kidd.  He has that kind of strength and hand speed.  Because of Smart, I'm not fretting the Celtics winning games dropping further down the draft.

I'm stressing less about tanking lately.  We are going to end up with a couple of good picks no matter what.  And I strongly suspect that Danny is going to trade at least one of them to get a veteran starter.  Have no idea who.  Just feels like circa 2005, when we traded the 6th pick.  Unless we land a top 3, which is looking less likely by the day, the situation seems ripe for Ainge to do something that reflects his contrarian streak relative to the other GMs. Just a hunch.  Personally, I would be very happy drafting Harris from Michigan State with our first pick (maybe trading down in the process), and taking a chance on that European center with our 2nd pick.

I'm a New Mexico fan.  I've seen Birch play twice this year, and in previous years.  I don't think he'll be a factor in the NBA.  Only interior skills, but undersized.  If you are looking for a 2nd rounder, look no further than Cameron Bairstow.  His skills translate very well to the NBA.  A Scola like PF.   Although with his crazy pace of improvement, I wouldn't be shocked if he sneaks into the first round.

Pretty good battle going on between Kansas and Oklahoma State.

Marcus Smart has been defending Wiggins for the last few minutes. Doing a really good job of bothering his dribble. Wiggins doesn't seem comfortable creating his own shot with a smaller quick footed defender on him. And hasn't been trying to get him into the post to take advantage of height mismatch.

Wiggins still looks pretty spectacular otherwise though. Ah, they just switched Smart off of Wiggins and Wiggins immediately blows by his new defender off the dribble and finishes at the rim (great first step). A pretty amazing combination of athleticism, ball-handling and shooting ability. Plays defense and rebounds too. Hard to see Wiggins being anything other than the next superstar wing of the NBA.

Yeah, wiggins is a step above everyone in this game. He makes it look so easy.

I like the Marcus smart flop count sign in the Kansas crowd! He has been watching too much Leflop James.

Oomph, rainbow three over Wiggins off the dribble going sideaways away from the hoop to put Oklahoma State up 2 with 1:20 left to play.

Edit: Oh, and next possession Wiggins comes down and hits an 18 foot fallaway J along the baseline to the tie score up. Clutch.

Edit: Overtime. Meh, dull overtime period. Oklahoma ran out of gas. Good effort to force OT though.

Until we see Embiid on the court and moving well, i think wiggins has to be grabbing a big hold on that number one pick.

Smart another inefficient shooting game I see. He might fall hard on draft day at this rate like muhammed did last summer.

In the very least Smart almost always looks good on defense. He is a strong pest.

If I am orlando or Sacramento picking in the 5-8 range, i give Smart strong consideration.
