Doc Rivers just announced that Chris Paul is likely out three to five weeks at the least with a separated shoulder

The pg's are on the injury hit list this season.

Injury bug gone with Doc?

Relying very heavily on stars is a double edged sword.

Does that mean Doc will rescind his contract since he does not like coaching through adversity?

No doubt. The Celtics never experienced any serious injuries during the time period when Doc was coaching. He certainly would have quit if that was the case.

KG in 09? Rondo last year? Unless you're being sarcastic which would make a lot of sense, just tough to tell on a forum

he bailed the first chance he had. Stop being an apologist for the quitter.

He quit on the Celtics plain and simple. Had a contract and bailed.

Clips will be okay, they have Collison backing him up.

There's a reason the Clips invested a bunch in a legitimate backup.

Getting back to the topic at hand and others besides Doc Rivers loyalty to the Celtics, its a shame to see so many NBA stars out with injuries. The list of major NBA stars out via the injury bug over the last few years is rather astounding. I don't know if there are stats that track such things but the incidence here seems greater than normal.

So it looks like the NBA will have an All-Star game without the following players due to injury:

Rajon Rondo
Chris Paul
Derrick Rose
Brook Lopez
Russell Westbrook
Kobe Bryant

OK I'll preface by saying CP3 is a player I love watching play.  I can even deal with his constant complaining to the refs.  His flopping sometimes really turns me off, but most of the time I find can tolerate it similar to how I did with Pierce.  That said, I think he plays almost perfectly for a point guard.  I was really pushing for a Rondo-CP3 trade back when the idea was a hot rumor.

So, on to the play.  The contact whistled on the play looked like Monta Ellis hooking/pulling his left arm.  After the whistle, CP whips his head back then fell forward.  He fell forward onto his right shoulder, which then caused the separation.

His feet didn't get tangled or tripped by anyone else's if you see the right angle.  He was moving at a pretty high speed, but could CP3 have stayed on his feet during that play?  Did CP3 just injure himself tonight by flopping?

He quit on the Celtics plain and simple. Had a contract and bailed.

Brad Stevens signed a 12-year contract extension with Butler in 2010, which extended until 2022. At that time he said "First and foremost, I’m loyal to Butler." When asked if he would ever leave Butler, Stevens replied "I guess if they kicked me out."

Is he a guy who "quit" and "bailed" on his previous contract and employer as well? Did he fail to "honor his contract"?

I'm not sure they'll be okay. When Paul was out last year, even with Bledsoe, they were 6-6. I think they've gotten more reliant on Paul this season, not less. It doesn't surprise me a career year for Griffin coincides with Paul playing some amazing basketball.

The answers to your questions are

No, yes and I don't know.

My thoughts exactly. The guy flopped and hurt himself.  I don't feel bad for him at all and actually can't understand why a player of his caliber flops so egregiously and constantly. I get that every one sells the foul, but cp3's antics are at another level.

A few of his more memorable flops (this is worth watching; the guy literally believes in his own flop so much that he runs at the people that assaulted him in his mind.  Funny stuff.)

Also, the doc haters need to move on.
