Sherrod Blakely says that Sully should sit so his hand completely heals. Basically saying that he's playing with one hand. Do you think so?

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think he should sit. I can understand that they want him playing on this brutal Western road trip but this is the perfect reason to sit him. Let him heal while our chances of winning many games are slim, so he can come back healthy and ready to contribute 100%.
I can only see him adjusting his game and making it slightly worse or something bad happening.
Just start Olynyk or Humphries or Vitor and let Sully hit the treadmill and bike.

I'll also add that as a pro-drafter (tanker) this would pretty much guarantee us an 0-7 or 1-6 record over the next 7 games which is great for us long if we decide to pull the plug completely in January/Feb.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I think he should sit as well.  An injury rarely heals without rest.

I just wish he'd give up on thinking he is Kyle Korver.

Part of being an nba player is learning to play when you're banged up.

If he needs to sit so be it, but I understand both the team and Sullinger wanting him to gut it out and play.

It wouldn't hurt the tanking cause.  I wouldn't mind sitting him for a couple of weeks.  I also wouldn't mind if he gave up on the 3 point shot for a year or so until he can hit a decent percentage.

I agree, want him to be healthy. Also would like to see KO play a lot more minutes (not at his expense).

yes he should, he wouldn't helping the team with his injury. Long term wise, I won't want any lingering injuries. Rest him.

The way they generally evaluate these things is by determining whether playing will slow the healing or how high the risk of re-injury is. If it's just sore and it will heal whether he plays or not they won't keep him out.

Sully has been dealing with this injury for a while and it got worse when he took a hard fall a few games ago. He needs to sit and rest to reduce risk of permanant damage.

Sully is simply amazing......I don't see how he did anything with one paw taped up like a huge log .....it's got throw off balance, timing ,  jump shot ,  the dude was grabbing rebounds with one arm .

He just needs to not chance falling on that thing or making it worse ........let KO , Hump and Fav have those minutes........and trade

Sully does handle the ball better with one hand than Bass does with two.

Professional athletes sit when they are injured and play when they are hurt. Sullinger is just hurting and playing through it. If he is medically cleared and wants to play, let him play. It will teach him how to play through adversity and make him a better all-around player in the end.

Of course, most of the pro-tank squad are just using this as an excuse to sit him and lessen the chances of the C's winning so it makes sense that some are jumping on the "Sit Sully until he is 100% healthy" bandwagon. Sooner or later people are going to start understanding that this franchise isn't tanking.

We wouldn't want Sully's injury to get worse, affect him long term, or become something that lingers.

This isn't the season for our best players to play through injury.
