If a team was to tank and end up with the 4th worst record in the league a lot of people might consider that a successful tank job. But in reality, tanking and ending up 5th gives a team the best chance of ending up with the 5th pick.

Tanking and ending up with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd pick gives a team the best chance to end up with the 4th best pick. So, More Banners, I ask you, if you won't tank for the 5th pick, what will you tank for, the 4th pick?

With our loss last night we suddenly have the 8th worst pick in the league, and the 20th pick from Atlanta. Here is who we would get according to various mock drafts.

8-Rodney Hood
20-Aaron Gordon

Ford's Big Board
8- Dario Saric

Sporting News
8-Zach LaVine
20- Glenn Robinson III

20- Rodney Hood

8-Wayne Selden
20- Mitch McGary

Personally if we draft 8 I would hope that Cauley-Stein would be there then if not I would want Zach LaVine. If Gordon somehow slipped to 20 he would be a steal, I also think Rodney Hood and Wayne Selden would be good picks with the 20th pick. What do you guys think?

If we end up with the 8th and 20th pick who would you guys want us to draft.

I don't get why people like WCS? he is Fab Melo.  Also, Mitch McGary had back surgery and he is out for the year.  I doubt he comes out.  I like Rodney Hood, GRIII and keep an eye on PJ Hairston.  Unlimited range, good athlete and plays really hard.  A little bit of a bone head but I can see him being a JR Smith type of player...a guy that can score in bunches...

I really think this draft class is WAY overrated...yes, theres going to be 4 or 5 very good players but I think that's it..who are those players, no one knows..

Not sure how 4 to 5 very good player is an overrated draft? I guess it depends on how good you think "very good" is? Yeah, when discussing this draft and jeff green for that matter, what is the definition of a very good player. I consider jeff green a very good player. He is in the top 10-15 at his position. In other words he is an average starter, yet very good compared to the overall average player in the nba.

I think this draft has 1 legit franchise player right now, Jabari Parker. Then there are about 4 other players who look likely to be all stars, followed by a pack of 8 more players who look like they could become starter quality players in the nba, and among them 1-3 might make an all  star team. That's really good compared to most drafts.

Yeah i would love to see him in Celtic green. The sky is the limit. He is no fab melo or acie earl!

Parker's looked awful for a few games now, I'm wondering whats up. Of course him playing C effectively has to be part of his struggles but it was bad last night.

Yea - he will be fine though.  I hate Duke but he is an absolute stud.  Him, Melo and Anthony Davis are the three best college players in the last decade or so...

I feel pretty confident that Parker will have a Carmelo Anthony / PP career path...barring the injury factor..

I think Embiid goes 1 though, because he is a 7 footer.  I think he is a franchise player too.  He is going to be scary good by the end of the year...

You can teach post-moves, what you can't really teach is the innate footwork and body positioning that makes really monster post players.

Dwight's not really a fair example, but you can see it when you compare someone like Big Al around his second or third year in the league with someone like Blake Griffin, who is trying to add some to his bag of tricks with mixed results.
