I'm mainly interested in centers (the C's really need one), but feel free to list sf's as well.  We'd all like to get Embiid, but that will likely never happen, so who are the best pivotmen in college basketball that might slip this year, like Roy Hibbert did?  Have at it people!

Not a draft expert. But my impression is this draft has more good wings than anything outside of the top couple of tiers (Embiid and WCS highlight the lottery bigs).

But that Mc...(googles)...(remembers before hitting draftexpress!)...Mitch McGary kid would be a big that's out of the lottery. They say he's a Tyler Hansbrough.

Also, Isaiah Austin.

Actually, there's a couple other bigs according to draftexpress. Some Euro guy is listed on Draftexpress. He's pretty young. Some guy called Adreian Payne apparently grew an inch to 6'10...but he's already 22 and seems like a Chris Wilcox.

And they have McAdoo in the 2nd round. Said to have potentially been a lottery pick had he not deferred.

Guess there's a few more bigs than I thought.

But I hope we take GRIII, who has deferred and fallen out of the lottery. It would make me sad if we miss out on this guy since he sounds like a low risk high potential payoff type pick who's also very young.

Mitch mcgary
Shabazz Napier
Khem birch
Tj warren
Kyle anderson
Mouhammadou jaiteh might be worth a look

There's only a certain amount of players who aren't in the lottery in a draft who are worth a look.
My fav out of all of these is shabazz Napier.

Jordan Clarkson - 6'5 SG, that has a simliar profile to Courtney Lee. But is more skilled, especially finishing in traffic

Chris Walker - 6'9-6'10 that has a similiar profile to Chris Bosh. But he has a bit more perimeter skills and could possibly play sf/pf in the nba. Super darkhorse player

Jahii-carson- a rich man pressey. Excellent crossover. And jumps even higher, that enables him to rebound, to finish around the basket and get off his jump shot. Also a very good shooter

Trust me on this one from a life long UNC fan the C's want no part of McAdoo.  One of the biggest disappointments in UNC history in terms of a top 3 recruit.  The guy from UNC that is going to be a good pro, even though he got ruled ineligible is Hairston, he has a deep deep range and he will be a rotation player in the NBA.  Just say NO to McAdoo...

What is a "low risk high potential payoff type pick"?  ??? Low risk means you're getting someone who probably won't be a bust. High potential means he has a high ceiling. If those two things are true he should be a top five pick!

I also prefer low risk and high potential guys over those high risk, low potential folk.  ;D

Joking aside, I just read this writeup on GRIII (yeah it's bleacher report):

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1889210-glenn-robinson-iii-finally-looking-like-the-lottery-pick-we-thought-hed-be

Right now he's projected in the teens somewhere. Honestly, I hope our draft pick is much earlier than that. It would be great if somehow the Hawks' pick dropped to that spot though.

I just don't know if he'll translate to the nba. He's very unathletic.

A couple of Michigan players mentioned, but the kid I want most from there is Caris Levert.  Probably isn't going to come out for another year, but he's a definite sleeper type player if he does.  Was a 6'2" pg entering his senior year of high school, and now is 6'7" and reportedly still growing in his sophomore year.  Last year he didn't play much, but this year he's arguably been michigan's best player.  Is unequivocally their best defender (is a nightmare against point guards with his wingspan) and has become much more of a playmaker on offense (runs the point sometimes) and can shoot the three.  He still needs to put on a little weight/strength for the NBA, as happens when a kid grows 6 inches in two years, but he has the ability to be a quality two-way player in the NBA, and maybe even better if he keeps improving growing.

Again, probably not coming out until 2015 because of the depth of the class and his late-bloomer status, but definitely someone to watch, and worth a pick in the low 20's.

Also, I love McGary (who's Hansborough with better passing and worse free-throw shooting), but he's got worse back issue than Sully it sounds like.  I also don't think he can really play center in the NBA, and we don't need any more 4s.  He'd be a good reserve while on his rookie deal as a big who can give you a spark off the bench for 15 minutes a game, but he's probably not someone who will be a franchise cornerstone.  Makes me sad, too, because I love with how much passion he plays.

Roscoe Smith....I can't say nobody knows about him since he leads the NCAA in rebounding, but he sat out last year after transferring from UConn to UNLV.  So he's flying under the radar having missed last season. Whether he's a 3 or 4 man at the next level remains to be seen, but he can play and has the will to outrebound anybody in the draft.  Could be a good find late in the draft if he comes out.

Kid I think can be an Isiah Thomas(the new version not the HOFer)type of player that could be had in the 2nd round is UMass PG Chaz Williams.

Also, its looks like Alex Poythress from Kentucky is falling hard and he could be quite a steal for a team late in the first.

Jusuf Nurkic, intruiging prospect..

Yeah I made a thread about this kid. Very skilled.

I also think PJ Hairston is a player that could be on Ainge's radar with 2 picks next year. He's well known but kind of forgotten because of the suspension. He is an amazing shooter and can create off the dribble. His suspension obviously raises some red flags but with 2 picks, one probably being later in the 1st round, I think Ainge might take a calculated risk with a player with lottery talent.

There's a couple of underrated international prospects...Mario Hezonja and Rasmus Larsen. I think Hezonja is gonna be a star.. He has everything you look for in a shooting guard prospect (except he has attitude problems). He is a good shooter with plenty of range, he is athletic, has confidence  and can shoot off the bounce. He kinda reminds me of gordan hayward but Hezonja has more potential. Rasmus is an athletic big man who can shoot and put it on the deck.He is a solid shot blocker and is excellent in defending the pick and roll. As a comparison i think of Bargnani

Selden FR winger at Kansas....has dropped, was top ten in the summer to bottom of first. Watched him play a couple of times looks polished for a 19 year old. (backhanded compliment huh?)

Might end up as a woulda coulda shoulda...but is square with size for the position. Mickey D all star in HS etc. Boston kid. Decent value equation at #23 or so. Are we getting rid of some guards any time soon?
