Spencer Hawes is just terrible. He really is one of the worst defensive bigs in the NBA. I remember going to the Philly series and watching KG at age 48 or whatever he was just completely dominate him in every game. (And I had 3rd row seats opposite our bench so I could see EVERYTHING! ;p ).
The problem with this idea is that essentially we are giving up Bass- who is a very valuable commodity to a contender- for 2 years of Jason Richardson and 1 year of this Hawes scrub.
I mean it's a good trade to make us terrible, but if Hawes does show any signs of improvement he just walks into free agency. Only good thing I see is Richardson's injury and losing Bass and Lee's deals- we'll lose a few more games I guess.
It's not enough incentive to give up Bass for me.
I can't see Houston taking on Lee's deal for 3 years either- they want to re-sign Parsons and maybe Terrence Ross so they aren't going near Lee for 3 years at 5 million per year.
