So here is the proposed scenario. The Boston Celtics trade an Avery Bradley centered package for Asik. Houston has put him on the trading block.
Then they trade various pieces for Stoudemire and Shumpert. Stoudemire is useless for the Knicks and Shumpert is admittedly on the way out.
So the Celtics end up with Asik, a starting 5, they move Bradley who wants more money than the 4/24 offer they gave him, and they acquire Shumpert, a defensive SG with better height and wingspan than Bradley to replace him.
The Celtics might even make it a multi-team trade if necessary to pull off the trade.
New Celtics lineup:
1. Rondo
2. Shumpert
3. Green
4. Sullinger
5. Asik
That's a decent/solid starting 5. No stars in there, but no glaring weaknesses either. We look to the draft and hope we pull a diamond from the rough the way we did with Jefferson, Sullinger, etc.
