Wallace is turning the ball over on 35.3 percent of his possessions, a level of generosity between player and opponent that is unheard of in NBA history. I know the Celtics’ offense can be a bit messy at times, but it’s probably for the best if you stop dribbling, Gerald.

And he has the audacity to continue to pout like a baby. ???

Remember when the season started and people were worried he cared too much and wanted him traded? Well now people like myself who want to see the team win cringe when he takes the court. I know he is a competent defender but the combination of being one of the absolute worst offensive players in the nba, the turnovers and the fact that he looks miserable the entire time he is on and off the court with us makes me want him gone even more.

Not to mention he appears unwilling to take any shots, even though he clearly has the skill-set to score. I hate having him and Pressey on the floor together because it means the offense has to run through whatever other three other players are on the court (hence why C-Lee has been aggressive this year). Pressey gets a pass from me because he is a rookie and may need some time to get acclimated but Wallace makes 10 mil a year. He has no excuse.

Is wallace injured?  He plays hard, but why oh why doesn't he score and shoot once in  awhile?  This guy was an allstar.  I am pretty sure he was injured for at least a few games.  And I like watching him when he is in the starting lineup.  Him and Green play well together.

But the no shooting ever part is curious.  How about a drive to the hoop?

pretty good defense tho.

Too bad he's on an untradeable toxic contract. Or else I'm sure Danny would have done something about him.

To give an idea of the context for this number, the highest TOV% in the three-point era for a player with at least 1500 minutes according to b-r.com is 30.6 by Rich Helley in the 1983-1984 season.

The players who have recorded a TOV% of at least 25.0 in a season in the 21st century while playing that many minutes are:

Chris Childs, Boris Diaw, Tyson Chandler, Jason Collins, Kendrick Perkins, Anthony Carter, Earl Watson, Eric Bledsoe, Steve Nash, and Kendrick Perkins.

It is not his "fault" that an owner was stupid enough to offer him this much salary. Is he supposed to turn such offers down since he is not that good? I don't blame him for taking the money.

As for his offense, it is terrible no matter what standard is used. This much was posted by lots of cbers before the season. He never has been a good shooter, but could score by attacking the basket. Now he can't even do that.

I compliment him for NOT shooting more often. He has no skill set for scoring anymore. Wallace was the poison pill needed to get those draft picks for KG and pierce. I don't mind that. Soon enough there will be enough young talented players on this team that Wallace will become the newest human victory cigar. I can wait.

Remember when the season started and people were worried he cared too much and wanted him traded?

Remember when his calling out the team resulted in "Is this now Gerald Wallace's team?" threads?

Wallace isn't overly careful with the ball, but his high TO% is more the result of his not shooting the ball a lot than anything else.

Agreed with much of this, since he's not "gaining" possessions because of the lack of shooting. That said, he's had an absordly amount of silly unforced turnovers this year. It seems like the ball has become more accessible this year than previously when he's dribbling, and his passing has been quite bad on this regard.

Not sure what is going on honestly on this regard, but I agree that the lack of shooting exaggerates the TO%, but we can't ignore either how in per 36 min he's turning the ball over 1.4 times more, or a percent change of 74%. That's not the norm, and it should be fixed.

It's the only thing in his game right now that has vastly disappointed me so far. I can manage or like much of the rest.

I cringe every single time he has the ball.  And this is the guy crying and whining about the team at the beginning of the season.  Unbelievable.  I can't wait till Danny unload his contract, which is hard to do.

his turnovers are horrible. so horrible in fact that I think he does it on purpose. kind of like "calling out teammates".

he's doing everything he can to show he doesn't want to be here.

Yeah he's turning it over way too much given his past performance. But this is an artifact of the denominator not the numerator.

The real story remains how passive he is when it comes to shooting. When you're scared to shoot you'll make stupid plays that lead to turnovers, often even a bad look (25% chance of going in) is still a better play than forcing a pass or just dribbling into traffic without a plan.
