...  and yet, no one wants to give up one iota of value for Omar Asik, an excellent defensive player with legitimate size, shotblocking ability, and who can control the glass (*especially* if you paired him with Sully).

Me too.

Personally, I couldn't sit on a pile of good, but extra parts, expirings, and picks and watch perhaps the best fit/player at the 5 change teams while perhaps the only real hole in our lineup goes unfilled.

Having legit players at each position helps evaluate the rest of the roster, too.  PLaying out of position doesn't help anybody.

Jon Henson keeps putting up lines like tonight, Larry Sanders becomes expendable baby!!!!!  Get Sanders Danny!!

http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400489189

Henson is a clone of Sanders with MORE scoring ability and Henson will cost 1.99 million compared to Larry's 11 million.

Sanders is what we need baby!!!

Smitty77

Yup, a guy like Sanders would be sweet!! But, I don't see Milwaukee giving him up, especially if they can put together a potent 1-2 frontcourt between him and Henson.

They also have Ekpe Udoh who is a very similar player as well!!

Simple-----Rondo for Drummond! Problem solved!

With the way Drummond is playing Detroit would be insane to do that. Theyd probably do Monroe and a pick for rondo though

Isaiah Austin boys. With the Hawks/Nets pick.

Huge, skinny (but can fill out), athletic with a bit of scoring touch.

don't be surprised with the C's taking our next center in one of the next 2 drafts.

Embiid or Cauley-Stein may be available this year depending where we pick and there's supposed to be several highly regarded big man prospects in the 2015 draft

I don't think there should be a rush to run out and get a center. there's only a handful of legit centers out there and we held up ok against one of the legit ones last night.

If an opportunity rises and we don't have to overpay to get one and it opens up the log jams that we have then maybe we jump at it. but I really don't see the C position as an emergency need.

A reoccuring Celtic theme for the past 15 years. Perks two years as a good center were all we've had in the middle. So frustrating.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.

As I saw some of the Florida game, despite the loss, he looks like an NBA player.

Runs well, defends the paint and for a kid that is supposedly raw, his post moves are really solid.

Love the bigs we have, especially Sullinger, but if we are going to be in a position to move for Embiid, I would trade any of them in a heartbeat. This kid is the real deal.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.

SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

sadly it's just a fading position. it's easy to find a 7 footer but one with talent or one that doesn't want to stay out on the 3 pt line is another thing.

imo. unless there's one in the draft that is pretty much a sure thing I would never draft one, most of 'em are huge projects that never pan out. I'd let another team waste a draft pick and go through the growing pains. I'd rather pay a free agent that I know what I'm getting outta him. or trade for him.

First of all, the problem is not whether or not our center will shoot threes or not. The issue that became painfully evident yesterday was that we have no-one to guard players like Brook Lopez.

Second, there are plenty of centers that don't shoot threes around the league today: Howard, Noah, Chandler, Marc, Lopez, Jordan, Pekovic, and Vucevic, just to name the ones that come to mind first.

This right here. Scouts saying he's the closing thing they've seen to Olajuwon in 25 years.  Not often a guy like this comes thru.

Make it happen Danny, use those picks.
