The thread "tanking isnt working" got me thinking what realistic trades could be made at the deadline to create the best possible playoff team for this years Cs.
I am not saying this is necessarily what DA should do but the trades may be acceptable and the team would be interesting.
Trade..
Houston gets Bass, Faverani, and Nets 2014 1st
Magic get Crawford, Bogans, and future protected 1st
Cs get Asik and Afflalo (averaging 22pts game)
Post deadline celtics
PG Rondo
SG Afflalo
SF Green
PF Sully
C Asik
6th AB
7th Wallace
8th KO
9th Lee
10th Hump
This will leave the Cs with Rondo 27, Green 27, Asik 27, and Afflalo 28 as the core vets. With AB 23, Sully 21, and KO 22 as the young core. Humphries expiring deal will allow the Cs to handle the cap hit of asik's contract jumping to 15mill next season while allowing them to resign AB and stay out of luxury tax.
If Sully progresses like he is showing he and Asik could be a Gasol/Randolph like combo. Not as good but not that far off. Rondo, AB and Afflalo will compliment each other nicely in a 3 guard rotation.
I think both deals are fair for Orlando Houston.
The rockets reportetly want 2 1sts for asik. This isn't likely but I think this offer is more then fair and bass and vitor both should fit nicely with howard.
The magic are still rebuilding and this trade helps them lose this year while clearing cap space and adding a 1st. If they see him as a future piece crawford could work nicely next to Oladipo.
The question is how many games does this team win in 2014-2015?
Aside from Indiana and Miami who in the east is better?
