I tend to take rumours for obscure European pundits with a grain of salt. This one is no exception.

http://elcontraataque.es/2013/12/03/sergio-rodriguez-se-plantea-abandonar-el-real-madrid-cuando-acabe-esta-temporada/

For those that can read Spanish.  I cannot:-(((

From hoopshype rumor's page:

Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers are very interested in Real Madrid guard Sergio Rodríguez. El Contraataque - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.PMUdj32b.dpuf

Its funny cause this report from hoopshype claims we are "very interested".

However, right underneath it, another report say the same three teams were interested in him this past summer.

Quote
Last summer he could have returned to the NBA. Cleveland, Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls were among those interested. - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.NbL4enLM.dpuf

So who knows if we were very interested in the summer time and how very interested we still are.

Clear indication to me that someone is recycling old rumors. Nothing to see here, I guess.

There's no reason to give euros special treatment, all obscure pundits fall into that category.

I've found that European pundits have a somewhat higher tendency to manufacture rumours of players drawing "interest" from NBA teams.

Sometimes I think the rumors come from the players themselves or their agents.  Case in point- over the summer Sebastian Telfair was supposedly generating interest from every team from Miami to Boston.  Well, as far as I know Telfair is unemployed.

I'd hazard a guess it's the agents more than the pundits.

Sure, especially given that it's also a pretty common occurrence for euro players to get NBA camp invites where they end up being cut first day just to get their value boosted. But that's probably beside the point.

Sergio is a multi-millionaire man Prigioni... he was too young when he went to the NBA, and had the terrible luck to go to a McMillan coached team. But now he's maturing in Real Madrid, playing good to great D and getting ovations from the opponents fans (see at the end). He's the best PG in Europe right now, period.

I don't think he's going anywhere until he wins a Euroleague title or two with his current team. That's also true for Mirotic (Bulls) or Llull (Rockets), who will be better if they go to the NBA with a Euroleague title under their belts. That's what Manu did, or what Rubio (even at his young age) did. They also need to improve their defensive game.

The Celtics could use Sergio if he's willing to come back to the NBA. He's averaging 12.4 ppg and 6.4 apg in 21 mpg in the ACB (link) and 11.6 ppg, 5.6 apg and 1.9 spg in 19 mpg in Euroleague (link). The assist numbers are great, because in FIBA assists are harder to get.

He's probably at the top of his game, but he's a much better player than in his NBA days. I'd like him on the Cs to backup Rondo. He can also play the 2, as his shooting is great. But I'm loving what Sergio "El Chacho" Rodríguez is doing with Real Madrid, they're the most entertaining team in 20 years in European Basketball, and so far they're 14-0 in ACB and Euroleague combined. If he's not wearing Celtic green, I want him to stay with Real Madrid.

Here are the highlights of their last ACB match, around the 1:20 mark, you can see a great play by el Chacho, and hear Sevilla (they played on the road) fans saying "woooow":

That video's not working for me, but TP none-the-less.

I think that earlier article said he's got another year with RM and a $500,000 buyout. I'm not too up on the negotiations that bring international players over to the NBA, but I assume that's counted in addition to whatever salary is agreed upon for the luxury tax line?

As I recall, he had a nice rapport with Rudy Fernandez when they were both on the Blazers, throwing alley oops all over the place.

I also recall that he was a fairly mediocre player.  Not a very good shooter, and definitely a poor defender.  A poor man's Pablo Prigioni.

Hard to imagine he'd be much of an improvement over Pressey, and certainly more expensive.

He's not a great player, but he'd be an improvement over Pressey. I don't think he makes much sense unless they have a plan to move one or more of our current guards.

Guess we will find out soon enough then.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

Not "one of our current guards"  but specifically Crawford. I don't think it's happening, and I don't feel that there are any legs to the rumour either.

Looked it up again. The buyout is 500,000 Euros (~ $680,000 dollars) and he'll be a free agent in 2015.  Fenerbahce's apparently prepared to offer him a contract of 2.5 million euros (~3.4 USD) a season, but allegedly Spainish Chocolate has some way of snagging a fully guaranteed NBA deal of 3 million/per.

Obviously that's a very strong allegedly.

I found another video on Youtube, hope it's working for you.

You can see that play at the start of the vid and also at the 2:22 mark, but the sound isn't as good as the other one, so you can't hear the crowd. By the way, Cajasol Sevilla has Porzingis (#6 of the boys in green), 18 year old from Latvia, who has a lot of potential.
