Good forum post here. Though provoking!

With Bosh and Aldridge getting up there a bit in age, it is possible that they are more attainable than we think. Both are very well rounded and love 'em or hate 'em, they'd fit well within the context of our other good players.

Outside of those two, I think Tyson Chandler or Jo Noah would be the best immediate fits. Neither of those two are attainable either, but their defense is off the charts when they're healthy.

Not sure if Im in the minority buy I feel like Aldridge is almost as untouchable as they come at the moment. He's posting his best statistical numbers and is just entering his prime at 28, while his team is sitting atop the Western conference.

I feel that the only way we could even have a conversation with Portland about Aldridge would be to involve Rondo. And that wont even get anything done. I think Aldridge is, unfortunately, pretty unattainable.

I've always liked ALdridge, but the fact is he's just not as good as Bosh.
Bosh kills him in pretty much every area.
Offense, defense, shooting %, efficiency %....there really is a clear line between the two. Bosh has championship experience too.

Everyone that doesn't like Bosh probably bases their reasoning behind his 'soft' image which is completely overblown, or because he plays for Miami.
Guy is cold as ice, good rebounder, good defender, and because he's played this third/second fiddle role in Miami he's probably pretty 'preserved' physically- I'd say he'd be able to play a good 5 years at a starting center/power forward.
He's an 8x All Star and complements Rondo's style perfectly with his stretch ability.

I'm not sure what else people who want to build around Rondo could possibly want in a big man.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

i dont see him making a trade unless its absolutely worth it. sully will be our number 2 guy behind rondo and they are developing green, AB, and olynyk. I think we will end up like the old pistons squad with billups and sheed.

everyone wants a superstar when we have one. lets go rondo!

you can forget about aldridge also hes not realy a fit with sully our need is a rim protector right now nothing more and i like our team. and i hate christina bosh too lol but what this team needs to be like the pistons is a ben wallace 2.0 aka kenneth faried

It is a fact that THIS YEAR Aldridge has a HIGHER efficiency rating than Bosh: 20.4 to 19.1.  Also, both of their respective teams have the same record, and Aldridge does NOT get to play beside of the greatest player in the league in LB and a still elite but aging Wade!!

Well his PER is higher (that's what I think you mean) and we are 20 games in. Bosh still has better percentages in every category... his defense is miles ahead...
Look at the last 5 seasons and Bosh is clearly on a different level.
Hey I never said I hate Aldridge, just that BOsh is better.
