You could build a pretty solid team around Rondo, Noah, and Green if you snagged a serious scorer at the 2 or the 4.

I love noah but man its scary how many games he misses
He must have some medical issue at the moment. Only way to explain the precipitous drop in playing time and production.

Why would Chicago blow it up?  They are still a very good team and all it would take is an injury to Lebron for them to be a real threat in the East.  That said, if they could find a good deal for Boozer or Deng, I'm sure they would take it (but they would have done that even with Rose).  They aren't going to move Noah, Gibson, or Butler unless they get blown away by an offer.

Frankly, I think they are more likely to try and move Rose than Noah.  You would have to think that if Boston offered Rondo for Rose (after Rondo is back and playing well) that Chicago would at least consider it, something that would have been laughable a little while ago.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Maybe, but what's the angle for Boston?

No one is trading for Rose. 3 years $60 million is too hefty a price for someone who has been on the court 50 games in the last 3 years or so.

This is a good trade idea if the Cs are getting the Charlotte 2014 first rounder from the Bulls:

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=68291.0

Chicago makes room for Deng extension and Mirotic signing next season, while getting a good return for Boozer, a player who might be an amnesty candidate.

Knicks get rid of Stat and get Wallace and Boozer to improve their chances to compete now.

Celtics take the terrible Stat contract, but gain some cap margin to make another trade with Bass/Bogans/Crawesome/Brooks and sign minimum/rookie free agents. Also, another first rounder to package or use on a potential starter.

Too good to be true, though.

I'd say I was shocked at how many fans over at Blog-A-Bull want to trade Noah, but given all of the Rondo threads here I shouldn't be.

I think Noah/Mirotic/Butler is what they will plan trying to put around whatever Rose can give them. Everything else will be shopped hard.

Yeah I think Deng in a cost-cutting move to get under the tax makes the most sense.  To Cleveland for Bynum and a pick - waiving Bynum would put them right under the tax.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

TP...was thinking the same thing and just posted this on the Celts/Knicks/Bulls trade idea thread:

"Cs send: Rondo, Wallace, Bass and Lee

Bulls send: Rose, Deng, Mirotic, Teague, Snell, Charlotte's pick and a Chicago first from '14 or '15.

For the Bulls, Thibs and Rondo are reunited with some other players who can play D in Lee, Wallace and Bass which Thibs should like. Bulls get to compete this year as well as the next two, while Noah is still in his prime. Creates a little logjam at the 4 with Boozer, Bass and Gibson, although Gibson can play some 5.If the Bulls need more incentive, we'd take Boozer who has one more year instead of Deng's expiring.

For the Cs, IF Rose recovers, we get that franchise player that gpap describes above in Rose. Moderate risk, high reward. In addition, we get youngsters in Teague, Snell and Mirotic  as well as stockpiling assets with the draft choices.

Bulls compete now. We compete later."

Whaddya think?

You could build a pretty solid team around Rondo, Noah, and Green if you snagged a serious scorer at the 2 or the 4.

A serious scorer at SG would do the same for us without Noah, provided Sully continues to look so good.

We really just need to balance the role players on the roster and add that closer.  And have RR return of course.

I think Noah's a much better defensive anchor than Sully right now, as far as being vocal and making sure everyone's got their rotations covered ala KG.

Not a chance; that's a heist by Boston.  Rose, their young assets, AND two first rounders for a guy who is also recovering from knee surgery in Rondo, some role players, and Wallace's horrible contract?  Extremely lopsided.

  • Derrick Rose is year-to-year
As a resident Bulls fan, I'll say there's no way that the Bulls are giving up Noah. We have one of the best C's in the game on pretty good value for his skill set. He's a great defender, an underrated passer, and a tenacious rebounder.

The only pieces the Bulls I see actually moving if they decide to look a new direction is to get rid of Deng for some pieces since it's unlikely he'll sign at the rate the Bulls will want to offer him.

Mirotic I see as unmoveable unless it's for a truly great player. He's expected to come over next year, and fill in for Boozer if we decide to amnesty him.

Since it's Rose's other knee I really do see a possibility of him coming back and being a more then competent player in this league if he can get his confidence back. By shutting him down now, the Bulls can continue to develop Butler and Taj as real options, see what they can get from Snell and Teague, wait for mirotic to come and save that Charlotte pick for the right trade or a potentially high draft pick.
