This guy is looking like an NBA MVP type player in his second season.

20.7 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks per game in 35 mins per game.
The Pelicans are 6 and 6 and it's his second year in the league.

Just amazing. Against LA earlier this month he OWNED Pau Gasol with 32 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks.
He broke Shaq and Chris Webbers age record for a game with 30 points,10 rebounds and 6 blocks- he's now the youngest player ever to hold that stat line.

Obviously it's early in the season- but the only players to have a stat line of 23, 11 and 4 blocks as an average over a season are Abdul Jabbar, Robinson and Olajuwan.
Only 68 games to go :)

In all seriousness though, he's looking brilliant.
When he's on the floor the Pelicans are outrebounding their opponents by 7 rebounds per 48 mins. When he's off they're being out rebounded by 12 boards per 48. Point differential? +6 per 48 when he's on, and -11 per 48 when he's off.

What a pick up for New Orleans- a team that's had so much crappy luck.
Here's the highlights vs LA....Good ESPN article below the vid.

Noel is on the Sixers.  ;)

Also, many scouts/gm's/talent evaluators were calling Davis a can't-miss prospect before the '12 draft. They look to be right.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Not that I'm comparing the players (just pointing out how good Sully's been playing) but per36 Davis is 21/11, Sully is 20/10.

Just curious, do you know who has the age record for 29 points, 11 rebounds 3 blocks and 3 steals?

How about 31 points, 6 blocks and 5 3 pointers?

Those kinds of "records" make me want to smack a puppy.

Perhaps but Davis can impact a game in ways that Sully can't on D.   Why not post their blocks comparisons?

Because their isn't a comparison defensively is there in terms of rim protection?

lol Noel is on the Sixers. My bad. I was thinking about the Asik for Ryan Anderson trade talk and how Asik might work next to Davis, but now they didn't need Asik because they had Noel.
Excuse me, Jrue Holiday came from the Sixers.
Well perhaps Jason Smith and Davis can be an all time great partnership on D? lol. I'll edit it now.

Yeah Sully is doing well, I think the biggest difference is Davis' impact on both ends. Sully's a great defender but his lack of length means he won't ever have the rim protection qualities of Davis and off ball help ability. Guy has ability and IQ to be like KG and Duncan- monster on both ends of the floor.

I'm not sure what was so confusing about "Not that I'm comparing the players". To reiterate, I wasn't comparing the two players. I was just point out how well Sully's been playing. I may have mentioned that as well.
