OK, since Jeff has apparently never had the perfect situation to unleash his true talent, match the NBA situation with the Jeff Green per 36 results. I count seven different NBA scenarios, ranging from 1st-2nd option down to 4th-5th option, Contenders down to cellar dwellers, with and without pass-first point guards, PF and SF.

1. Fourth option on a contender. 18% SF, 80% PF.
2. Third option on a playoff team. 16% SF, 81% PF.
3. Second option on a bad team. 58% SF, 42% PF.
4. First option on a bad team. 96% SF, 4% PF
5. Fourth option on a contender. 49% SF, 51% PF.
6. Fifth option on a contender with pass first point guard. 64% SF, 36% PF.
7. Third option on a bad team. 24% SF, 76% PF.

Point being, except for a gradual improvement with age (as expected), he's pretty consistently average in all his various situations.

The Jeff Green problem is that he looks like he should be a much better basketball player than he is.

Well stated. Every game there are moments when I think "this guy is an all star." but he follows these up by disappearing for minutes, a quarter, or more.

Green has great ability. But as many here have mentioned he does not want to be the leader on a team. It is mental, not physical constraints that limit green.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

This is true, but at the same time stars demand the ball, and green seems perfectly content with his amount of touches.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Which probably makes him great to play with.

The great Jeff Green conundrum. Half of the posts are about how he's always the same, no matter the situation. The other half are about how inconsistent he is.

Not really a conundrum. He's inconsistent game to game, but over the longer course of a season, season to season he's remarkably consistent.
