Totally destroyed the 76ers by almost 40 the other day.

Now with Ryan Anderson back (6-10 in threes vs 76rs) they are looking more dangerous than ever.

Core starters - Davis, Gordon, Holiday
Core bench players - Anderson, Evans  (both who could be starters on many other teams)

I think this team like GS last year has a good chance to make the playoffs and really cause issues from there. They are really lucky to have gotten Davis. Kid is going to be a stud for years to come. He has physical gifts but what impresses me more is his IQ and MOTOR. Basically he will try to outplay you on both ends

thoughts?

I agree, and I like their lineup as is, with Anderson to stretch the floor and Jason Smith playing alongside Davis. I see no need for them to trade for Asik as some people wish.

With Davis, Gordon, Evans, Holliday, and Anderson they have a lot of firepower and a few guys that can act as go-to players down the stretch. Very dangerous indeed.

I posted a thread about it a week ago.  http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=68073.0

Anthony Davis is the second coming of KG.  Or maybe Duncan.  He's living up to all expectations.  That team has the potential to be a thread for many years to come.  It's a big man's league... always has been.  Having an elite big like Davis will go a long way.

How about those first 10 games for Davis:

21 points, 11 rebounds, 1l.5 assists, 3.6 blocks, 2 steals, 48%/85% in 35 minutes

He's still only 20 years old. SiIIiick.  And to think... New Orleans almost got stuck with crap-salary-sandwich of Lamar Odom, Luis Scola and Kevin Martin.  Thankfully the acting owner of the team (the NBA) rejected that garbage trade and set them up for a proper tank job.  I think I was one of the few people who vehemently defended that "veto".  Any NBA owner in their right mind would have blocked that garbage move.  It's paying off in spades right now.

Assuming their roster stays healthy, they've got a solid  team.

Now that Ryan Anderson is back, my fantasy team may finally become relevant.

I'm not as crazy about the 3 guards as some people are, but Davis is a beast and Anderson is a great fit.  I like the team.

speaking of Anthony Davis, as a huge college basketball fan, he was the most dominate college player of the last decade.  I know it's early but he is KG in his prime ( not sure he is the leader KG is ) but he has that skill set.

Davis has made a big leap from his rookie year. Looks like centerpiece for a long time.

That being said, I'm glad we skipped out on Evans and Rivers. Not sure either one of these guys will ever reach their potential.

I want to say something about staying away from rabid birds that have big, pointy beaks ...

but I digress.

They definitely have a great young core, led by Davis. Still don't like the name, though ... or their colors. I'll say the same about the Pels as I've said about OKC—they won't win a title until they change their hideous unis.

Austin Rivers is awful, watching him at Duke it was pretty obvious that he was going to be a bust.  He is a ball hog chucker and he thinks he is Kobe Bryant....so happy the C's didn't get him...He will be playing over seas shortly...

Not so sure Anthony Davis isn't already a top 5 player.

He is darn close to it if he is not there already. I'd have him top seven in some order along with LeBron, Durant, Wade, Harden, K-Love and D-Howard.

Agreed. He's already putting up MVP-level numbers this year.

I would bet the Pelicans would not trade him for any player in the league except Lebron.
