I'm ok with the trade as long as it's not ROndo, Sully, KO and Fav...

I'm probablly not looking forward for Amare's defense though :(

TP. Wow that is some stunning defense.

Assuming he thought that it was a shot, you can see why he's never been a great rebounder.

That's why i'm not really looking forward for this Amare rumors, he's not a good defender and a meh rebounder. Sully can even out-rebound him

Sully is a good rebounder don't sell him short. Look at tonight, he had 17 boards against Duncan and Splitter. Most guys can't hang with Sully on the baords.

I'd love to get Amare if it means getting rid of Wallace and possibly getting Shumpert. Wallace is a old player with a bad conract on a rebuilding team, he has zero value to us. The faster we get rid of him the more quickly we'll be able to start looking into getting some big fish to team up with Rondo. If Danny were to get it done by 2016 we could have Rondo, a max free agent, and players we can package to get another. The next big 3 :o

Exactly how would we dump Wallace, acquire Stoudemire and Shumpert but keep Rondo?

Lee Humphries and Wallace for Stat and Shump works.

After thinking about it. I'd do this trade. It's a good deal for us and helps our trade exception in regards to the hard cap. It saves us almost 5 mill this season.

If the Knicks are trying to move Amare they aren't going to find many suitors. An old max player who can't play isn't going to net much and Shumpert isn't exactly lighting up the world right. Exactly who on the Knicks honestly believes Stoudemire and Shumpert can net Rondo? We have plenty of 1st rounders to throw in a deal like this to get it done.

Assuming that they think they're contenders with Chandler back, Stat is just rotting cap space, Gerald Wallace is a huge boost.

Throw in a few of our too many role players (especially power forwards) and it kind of makes sense.

I would do it too.  Knicks are 3-8 and they need to win badly.  Humphries gives them more than Amare does for sure and they could really use Wallace at the 3. Lee is depth, but not a great replacement for Shumpert (hey they have to give something up)

It gives Celtics an additional young guy to add to the core group:  Rondo, Green, Sullinger, Bradley, Shumpert, Olynyk, Vitor.  Thats 7 guys going forward with an 8th guy being whoever is drafted in the lottery.  you also would have Bass, Amare, and Crawford coming off the books next year so Danny would have tons of flexibility moving forward.

Gotcha, the C's hold the cards in this scenario. Wasn't aware Lee and Humphries could get it done. If that's the exchange, I'd probably do it too. Although it'd make us worse.

Lee Humphries and Wallace for Stat and Shump works.

No chance NY does the deal. I think we'd be lucky to see a Hump / Wallace for Stat deal, much less dumping Lee and adding Shumpert.

If the Cs successfully traded Wallace to anyone for anything, the front office would all jump up and down and chest bump the second Ainge hung up the phone.

You're way too down on Wallace. He is still a capable player and while his contract is bad he's no where near the level of Stoudemire.

I read in the rumor thread that the C's aren't pushing to include Shump in the deal which I think is crazy. Even if we assume AB as our future SG, Shump is a great trade asset.

The reason we should get the better of this deal is because we have leverage. We're not competing this year (or likely next) so we aren't in a rush to plug holes in our boat. On the other hand the Knicks are competing and further they are trying to keep Carmello happy. We have no real urgency to make this trade and seemingly they do.

Amare's contract is worse than Wallace's. Wallace will at least play and give you hustle. Add to that Humphries as a very capable big and Lee as a 3-and-D guard...I don't see this deal as lopsided at all. Wallace and Lee don't have great contracts but they are still good players. Stoudemire is cooked and it seems like everyone has known it for at least a full season now.

So count me in for this trade as long as Shump is included. I don't want to just swap salaries with NYK and get nothing for making them better. If they are going to get better we need to get something for it.

Yeah, tp for the explanation - I agree that a Lee for Shumpert swap seems reasonable. Lee is still a very good rotation player and has always been a good soldier. The Knicks have been ready to ship out Shumpert for a while now - I am sure the foul on Paul George's three last night with six seconds left don't have them leading his fan club either. The trade really does work for both teams.

C's can't "leverage" Shump into the deal. They have no leverage. If NY doesn't like the deal, they just walk away lol

Also, ask yourself if you had Shumpert, would you take Courtney Lee for him? If you say yes you're probably lying.

Not that I care one way or another that the Knicks lost, but that foul was a completely bogus call.

I think they have soured on Shumpert he is NY best trade asset but they don't value him too much they are trying to get a good piece(Rondo,Faried) but the fact is they have shopping him forever and the news about his second knee surgery got out will lead them to trade him for an underwhelming package maybe not Lee but you will see the trade will be lopsided.
