Knicks have nothing to offer unless they somehow worked some magical third team in that could give us a great young player or a good pick.

According to the ESPN trade machine, Wallace, Lee, and Humphries for STAT and Shumpert works. I sit squarely on the fence on that one.
Shumpert apparently had a second knee procedure this summer. He's clearly damaged goods.

On the other hand, I don't feel like we're giving up anything for taking a flier on him in this deal (and we're unloading Wallace in the process), so it should be a no-brainer.

Yeah, it's a no-brainer on paper. I just happen to like what Wallace and Lee bring to the team. I also like Shump's game, and while I know the odds of Stat being healthy are about as good as Doc coming back as our coach, that would be a nice silver lining if he could stay patched together.
I don't expect anything from Stoudemire. But I feel like taking a chance on Shumpert being healthy over the long run is worth Wallace and Lee.

Shumpert, if healthy, is a better piece to put next to Bradley and Rondo in a guard rotation. And Wallace and Lee are, ultimately, replaceable. And not needed in the immediate future.

How about Prigioni in place of Shumpert in that deal?

I don't see how people get excited about a backup pg who's that old.

His current production is really nice for a glue guy guard who is cheap. But he has zero value to any team not looking to make noise this year.
