I'm convinced that Ainge is gonna repay Mchale for the KG trade and give him Rondo.

Houston has made it clear that Asik is going to be traded before the deadline:

"The Rockets WILL trade Omer Asik before the trade deadline, 100%. (via ESPN)"

Here's my prediction: Rondo and Lee for Asik, Lin, Beverley, and Houston's 2014 first round pick.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=llhe59d

After completion of this trade, I think Danny is gonna gut the team of guys he doesn't want.  This includes Wallace, Hump, Bass, and (possibly) Green. I'm not sure of Danny's intentions with Green still.

At this point we are setting ourselves up for future success.  We lose a bunch more games this year and get a top 5 pick.

Our 2014 roster looks like this:

Lin/Beverley/Pressey
Bradley/Ben Gordon/Bogans
Green/Pierce
Randle/Sully
Asik/Vitor/Olynyk

I realize that the outside shooting is not good, so maybe Ainge trades Green for some outside shooting at some point.  Who knows, maybe we draft Exum or Parker.

Anyways, I didn't mean to get into it this much, but deep down I know Ainge is gonna ship Rondo to Houston at some point this year.

Gonna happen.

Rondo for Asik? That's crazy talk, even around here.

Would rather try to pry one of the Detroit big men

OR for a package from Sactown including Ben McLemore

OR Michael Kidd Gilchrist from Charlotte

If you're going to deal your franchise player, you should get a good young player in return
you can build around.

Asik does nothing for me.

with that projected starting lineup, the Celtics would be a lottery team again for awhile
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Then you have a gut feeling that Ainge is a moron... That trade's highway robbery for the Rockets

You'll have a team that's roughly equivalent to Houston minus Howard and Harden. You won't make the Celts better than they would be with Rondo but they'd be better than they are now with Lin and Asik filling our largish holes at pg and c with close to average players. So it's unlikely you'd end up with Randle. Without Randle, you have a steaming pile of crud.

Poor RR, he can't go a week without someone's gut saying he'll be traded.

Good thing Danny has his own gut.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Asik can't shoot

Yup, and that's my biggest issue with Asik.

That's why I'd rather get Monroe.

McHale isn't the GM this time, though. Ainge would be dealing with Daryl Morey.

I don't agree with this at all.  IMO that is a terrible deal for the C's, and I don't see DA giving away RR for a decent center and a bunch of roster fodder.  We will need to get a better haul back from trading our best player.

Why is everyone in love with Asik and why do they think he will bring a king's ransom in a trade?  His best year he averaged 10ppg and 11rpg.  That was playing 30 min a game.  He is a very poor free throw shooter.  I thought the idea of trading bass and sully for him was crazy.  Why we would trade a 4 time all star for him is beyond me.

monroe is good , but too similar to sully. We need a defensive anchor at center. If Rondo is getting dealt it would be for drummond or no deal .
