Makes sense he would ask for a trade.  He needs to be a double digit scorer in order to not be a negative on offense.  Kinda like Perk in 2010 vs Perk in OKC where opponents can play off him more.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I would do the trade that I did in NBA 2k14.

Brandon Bass and Vitor Faverani for Omer Asik and Greg Smith.

Now in real life Morey would ask for more, so give him the Clippers 2015 pick.

I'd pay a lot for a Center who can defend very well and dominate the glass.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

You could add the expiring contracts of Humphries, Bogans, Crawford, and Brooks to draft picks and Bradley to match the incoming deals of Asik and Gordon. [Anderson would go from NO to Houston.]

It'd also be enough outgoing salary to stay under the luxury tax threshold, I believe.

I could see Bass and Bradley doing it maybe (and that's a big maybe). The Rockets need a wing and a pf, but other teams will offer more than that. The Rockets don't want picks. They want to win now and it will be near impossible to get him without giving up Rondo, Green or a combination of Sully/KO/Bradley.

well he got a DNP tonight even with Greg Smith only playing 1 min due to injury. Guessing Mchale wasnt too happy about the trade demand and put Asik in his place, love it. Would like to see more coaches/gms do this. Bench him until he accepts his role.

In the mean time im sure the mad scientist Morey is planning something crazy to land another star to play with Howard/Harden. Probably his plan all along.

Jeremy Lins looking good btw in that 6th man roll, doubt he is moved.

Could be because they were playing against stretch centers, something Asik isn't good at defending. That's what I heard anyway.

Rumor: Omer Asik requests trade from Houston Rockets...again

Omer Asik has requested a trade from the Houston Rockets.

Asik is unhappy with his playing time with the Rockets playing Dwight Howard at center.

Asik declined comment, referring questions to his agent, Andy Miller. Miller also would not comment on any trade request.

“I would say the situation is very frustrating right now and we’re trying to work through it,” Miller said.  “For Omer, the objective has always been to continue to develop and grow as a player. That’s why we came to Houston in the first place. If that objective can’t be met, if we can’t get the right platform to grow and contribute as a player, it’’s certainly frustrating.”

Kevin McHale has experimented with playing Howard and Asik together, but it has been unsuccessful.

They really need to trade this guy. I feel his trade value is going down by the week.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

Whoops, I was late to the party.

I would love to add Asik obviously and fill our center void for a number of years but I feel the price will be far too high.

No way I'm trading Bradley and Bass just to get Asik.

If the Rockets want anything for Asik it would be a stretch 4 for spacing and/or a defensive presence for their back court, which currently is pathetic defensively,

KO, Lee and the Celtics 2015 1st rounder. I also know the C's would want to shed some salary not take it on so Marshon Brooks would likely have to go in this package as well.

Some might hate giving up that first rounder and KO but for a true center that is a defensive anchor type player that can give you 10-12 RPG, I would do it.

Rondo/Pressey
Bradley/Crawford/Bogans
Green/Wallace
Bass/Sullinger/Humphries
Asik/Faverani

You guys realize that Rondo/Bradley/Green/Sullinger/Asik is a likely playoff team in the weaker bottom half of the east?

So you can likely kiss a lottery pick goodbye. Is it worth it?

Doesn't really help out OKC at all.  Bradley could be a fine Sefolosha replacement but if they'd let Sefolosha walk, they'd probably let Bradley walk, too, since they're not going to pay him what he's likely looking for.  They'd also have no real center outside of Adams (who's certainly promising, but nowhere near ready to be the starting center on a contending team) and Collison (who is the anchor of the bench and best used as a reserve).  Bass isn't really enticing since he's a poor-man's Ibaka without the shot-blocking and athleticism.
