  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I'm wondering if this means he'll be back in January.  If he makes his return on say the 20th of December, you'd assume he will be day to day + limited minutes through january and into All Star break.

At least we'll increase our chances of a top 6 pick.

From ESPN...

Quote
Danny Ainge ~ "I don't see anything happening this month. ... I think that when we get into the middle of December, it could be a week-by-week situation for him. He's getting closer, but he still hasn't gained 100 percent of his strength back in that leg. And we certainly don't want to take any risks."

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

So mid-December would have Rondo missing about 25 games. Almost 1/3rd of the season. And that is the earliest possible return date.

That sucks.

Wouldn't it be funny if Ainge were lying so that he could spring an early Rondo on people as a surprise?

No need to rush him back. Let him fully recover and bring him back in late january.

Makes zero sense to rush him back .

Lottery here we come ;D

I want maximum time of Rondo and Bradley playing together before Ainge gives Bradley the kind of contract that commits to that duo being the long-term starting backcourt for the Celtics.

The second half of the season should be enough time to see this.  At least Bradley is playing SG now, and has been playing much better of late.

I'd say he's had enough time. Most likely scenario is that he doesn't match the offers Bradley gets. If he does match, its going to be for 6th man type money. I doubt he sees Bradley as a championship csliber starting 2 guard.

Rondo coming back on a typical recovery schedule?

Madness.

There goes my prediction of a November return.  Oh well, I guess these guys will have to try to hold it together without him.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

just because Rondo isn't coming back yet doesn't mean we are tanking...

this team is just below 50% mark, our 4 game win streak included a win over Miami. This team can continue to grow without Rondo.

Rondo is already a proven player, so until he comes back, we can develop some players.

When Rondo comes back, he can only help make them better

Well Danny says he 'could be week to week by then' (mid December). So if he gets 10-15 minutes a game and builds his way up I'd say we won't get a starting caliber Rondo until February/All Star break at theearliest. Ainge is just so FOS when it comes to this stuff- I can definitely see him keeping Rondo out longer than needed Iin a 'rebuilding' year...particularly if he doesn't have any interest coming into the trade deadline-or if he decides to keep Rondo.

I can see Gerald Wallace complaining to the media about tanking if Rondo appears to be ready and willing to play in practices but isn't seeing the floor in games.

And then maybe "day to day" by February 1st?

lol ok.  I'm done.  This right here is all the proof I need to know that we're tanking for sure (and rightfully so).  Thanks for clearing that up, Danny.  You're the best.
