While I am happy to roll with Olynyk and skip on Andersen, I really like the direction here.
Trading for a guy like Monroe is a no-brainer. You do what you have to without giving up Rondo. A big guy who can give you lots of points and boards with perennial all-star potential is a must. Demarcus Cousins and Lamarcus Aldridge also fit this mold. Again, we would have to give up quite a bit, but it would be worth it.
After giving up so much for our solid big guy, we would need to find a deal on our future sg. Of course this may be Wiggins / Parker (more sfs anyway), but this is not likely. Gordon is totally attainable and has shown a LOT of potential. He obviously has a long injury history, but he could really be worth it in the long run.
Building a contender around Rondo is very possible with so many young guys and draft picks; it is likely it just won't be this season.
