I just wanted to start a thread about Avery Bradley. He's been getting a lot of beef around here due primarily to the fact that he has been forced to play as a lead guard to start the season, a position that he is ill equipped to play. His offensive numbers so far for the season look pretty woeful.
I love the way the kid plays, though. I will go as far as to say that until Rondo returns, he may be the most valuable player to the success of this team right now. We seem to be building an identity as a scrappy, defensive minded team, and Avery is the leader of that identity. One thing that is a given is that Avery Bradley is always going to play hard defensively and he's always going to make hustle plays. I think his attitude can't help but rub off on the rest of the team. In that way, he is picking up on the legacy left by KG. His play and his intensity makes it embarrassing to not give full effort defensively when you are on the floor.
If we are going to stay competitive this year, Avery Bradley will be a big reason why, regardless of his individual numbers.
