My first question is if you could draft anybody you want from the 2013 class who would you take first overall with the benefit of short term hein-sight. Right now I'd say for me Carter-Willams from Philly. And he couldn't shoot coming out.

I don't knock the Magic for taking Victor O. but when they took him I was surprised he went second Overall. Now looking at it at least they got an NBA talent.

The Cavs were trying to outsmart themselves and there going to pay for it. That was one of the biggest head scratch's of all time, take the easy pick Noel, of Maclemore, or even Victor O.

I'm just glad we are going to be picking from a really good class this year. And Ainge found a possible NBA starter this uear at 13 with Kelly O.

It's still too early to say, but I would go with Oladipo, despite MCW's hot start. Ainge did extremely well to grab Olynyk though.

Yeah Victor O is my fave. I think that if Dennis Schroeder gets starters minutes, which is unlikely, he could be a big steal.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
MCW, Victor Oladipo, Dennis Schroeder, KCP are all guys that I think are obvious long-term NBA talents at this point.

Olynyk, Zeller, Steven Adams, Nate Wolters, McLemore..these guys are just about locks to be NBA rotation players for the next decade plus as well.

Then there is CJ McCollum, who hasn't played yet, Otto Porter who hasn't played, Trey Burke, who hasn't played yet (although if I could vote for one guy to be out of the league within 4 years taken in the top-10, its Trey Burke), Alex Len has been micro-managed for some reason (which might be because he's not that good, and that sucks since I've got more than a little bit invested in the guy)...these guys should all be rotation players once they get acclimated.

Plus there are high upside guys who just haven't shown what they are capable of yet (assuming they eventually do show what they are capable of), ya got the Greek Freak Giannis, Archie Goodwin, Ricky Ledo, Alex Len, ANthony Bennett..at least one or two of those guys will pan out.

I am actually really surprised and encouraged by this draft class. While nobody out there is on Anthony Davis's level as a franchise changing player, in the very least Oladipo and MCW will have a nice little back and forth for ROY.

The Celtics somehow have two of the top 4 rookies this year with Olynyk (22 yo) and Vitor (25 yo).  Granted they're a little old, but our best rookie last year is 21 (Sullinger) and I think all three of these guys have a lot of room for improvement on their already promising games.

I didn't include Faverani above, but him, Gal Mekel, Nick Calathes, Pero Antic, Anize Onuaku, Lugi Diatome, at least 2 or 3 of those guys will be long term NBA talents as well.

So far I'm pretty confident that there are no real stars in this year's draft class.

MCW looks nice, but I can't help thinking he's Tyreke Evans redux in the sense that he's an oversized point guard that teams expect to be a terrible shooter and with a certain kind of defensive pressure has been able to knock down shots, perhaps at an unsustainable rate.

As IP noted, though, it looks like there's a good amount of NBA talent in this class.

I have a hard time seeing Len as anything other than a stiff who sticks in the league being mostly unremarkable other than a nice box score a couple times a year.

Don't sleep on Shane Larkin, though, he's injured and will have a hard time getting minutes in Dallas, but I think he's got potential to be a dynamic PG, maybe in a bench sparkplug role somewhere.

Well I have a hard time seeing you as a guy who knows Alex Len at all. Did you know THAT HE LEARNED ENGLISH IN 2 YEARS? FROM HIS GIRLFRIEND?

They're the tallest couple in the world, and Alex Len is a future all-star.

That makes "Steal my Sunshine" an even greater artistic achievement, but I don't think it'll help much in the NBA.

You guys are gonna miss a million miles of fun if you continue to run away from the Alex Len train.

Yeah, Len jokes are a pretty shallow well.  That's why I'm rooting for McLemore - at least he's still charting.

Luckily it's almost time to start hearing about the first Noel.
