is he really so much worse than Crawford or Lee?

i thought there would be some experiments with all the guards but it looks only AB, Crawford and Lee are in the rotation.

he is way one dimensional and even that dimension isn't that good

if lee could start hitting his shots the playing time is his, plays good defense and is solid all around, sadly he has looked mostly invisible through preseason and the first 3 games until last game
good crawford should be our starting point guard, bad crawford hurts the entire team so far he is somewhere in between

brooks unless he picks things up will be out of the nba soon enough
stroke like ray allen, brain farts like tony allen, basketball iq like gerald green, team play like ricky davis etc  8)

LoL, i think his stroke looks like Kobe

I remember there was a survey here before preseason and most people favour him over Crawford.

Brooks has not proved he is better than Crawford at all so that is all hype talking.

Last year Brooks shot like 24% from three.

Crawford can board, assist, shoots more than 30% from three, and can score.  Not always pretty but he is much better than Brooks has ever played.

I like Brooks better than Lee.  Crawford is more valuable now because of his Pseudo-pg abilities, but that might change when he starts competing for minutes at the 2 when Rondo gets back

Also about Lee: you will find no bigger critic than me since he came to the team.  But so far this year he has played pretty well.  I don't want to say so but it's the truth.

Perhaps Brooks and Humphries are about to get traded. Neither are playing much. Just sayin'....

I posted this in another thread when someone asked why a reporter hasn't asked Stevens why Pressey and Humphries hadn't been playing. I think it bears repeating with a small edit.

Reporter to Stevens at a press conference: Why isn't Pressey, Brooks and Humphries getting playing time?

Stevens to reporter: Have you seen them in practice?

Reporter to Stevens: No.

Stevens to reporter: Next question!

Most of the time(other than injuries) the answer to the question of why a player is not getting playing time is simple. In practices, those players are not playing as well as the players that are getting playing time.

Yes, it really is that simple.

EDIT: So no matter how bad players might be playing in games(like Bradley or Lee or Wallace or Olynyk), the fact is probably that no matter how bad they are playing, the players not getting playing time have more than likely convinced the coach through their practice performances that they wouldn't even be playing that well.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Remember when a lot of people here were big on Brooks and incensed at Danny for trading him?  Be careful what you wish for...

They were absolutely right that he's better than JJJ, though.

Brook and JJJ are too much alike. Both very skilled; but both clueless about what it takes to make it in the NBA. Kept waiting for JJJ to bulk up. Same with Brooks. If he does not develop a reliable 3pt shot he is sunk.

Have you seen his defense?

Nor have I!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

My guess is that Brooks might see more playing time if he showed a willingness to try harder and execute better on defense than Jordan Crawford.  If that is the case, I am perfectly fine with forcing Brooks to earn his playing time by showing a better commitment and understanding of defense in practice.
