I have two comments-
(1) I agree with those who have pointed out that Asik is more valuable than Anderson, and Morey does not need to be in a rush, here.
(2) I have never understood the argument for why we would trade away Rondo, why we would trade for Asik, or why we would do both at the same time.
I have always thought that any trade with Houston and Boston involving Rondo would have a third team involved. Something where Rondo goes to Houston, Houston gives up Lin, Asik, and some young players of which the young players go to Boston who then flips Lin and/or Asik elsewhere for other assets.
A trade like this might work.
Boston - Lin, Varejao, Zeller, Jones, Houston 1st
Houston - Rondo, Bass, Lee
Cleveland - Asik, Motiejunas
Varejao has a team option so he has a lot of value, you pick up an ok PG in Lin, two young players with promise, and a first, while dumping the salaries of Lee and Bass for Rondo. Cleveland gets a healthier younger center than Andy and a cheaper (though not as good) PF prospect to replace Zeller.
