lose to tanking Lakers.

Doc will be exposed this year.

Should be fun. Load up on the popcorn. I get to cheer the Celtics and Brooklyn on, and boo the Heat and Clippers.

There wasn't one thing Doc did that was good tonight. The Clips looked awful. Totally disorganized and then deflated

  • And the Truth shall set you free
I was having flashbacks to all of the huge games where Doc refused to make in game adjustments and refused to call timeout. LOVELY to see him make those mistakes for another team. I agree he will be exposed. He doesn't have the leadership the players in Boston provided. They were coaches on the floor.

I think the Clips will be alright but they are no better with Doc.

And the Lakers starters didn't play the last 15 mins..definitely not the 1st game Doc wanted to have..the way they loss was bad.

The Clips will be ok, but I definitely see the LA media jumping all over it.

I'm actually a fan of doc and loved his time with us, but watching that game tonight, it was very interesting to see the 4th quarter pooper offense rear its ugly head for the clippers.

Doc essentially tried to recreate his starting five from the celts championship team but the clips are missing theee huge pieces....reddick is no ray, griffin is no kg, and Barnes/Dudley for sure as hell ain't no Paul pierce!

Their offense is going to be horrible when games tighten up, no matter how much of an upgrade Paul may be an "upgrade" over rondo.

Of course, it's only one game. I'll be pulling for doc to do better, but not better than the nets.

  • GOT IT!!!
Doc is a good coach but not sure his style will fit in ClipperLand to win a title. He doesn't have the defensive minded players he had in Boston. He'll have to convince them upstairs because the Clippers aren't known for being mentally tough. They got pounded on the glass tonight something Doc just doesn't preach enough.

Clips team defense was awful. I always thought the Celtics biggest loss was Thibs' defensive scheme. It'll be interesting to see if this game was an outlier. They have the talent, but they did not look like a contender tonight.

Yes guys, the Lakers bench will continue to score more than 70 points a night and the season will continue to go on just like this one game unfolded.

I don't think anyone is thinking this is the norm, but no one expected this tonight.

I think underestimated just how much worse they got defensively.  Bledsoe is one of the best defensive guards in the league.  I think he's better than Avery as he can play tight, sticky defense without picking up cheap fouls or giving up blowbys.  He's a huge loss for them.  Caron is solid defensively and Odom, after he got in shape, resumed rebounding at a high rate in addition to playing his usual all-around floor game.  Their replacements are all better shooters but they might make the Clippers the worst perimeter defensive group in the league.

Pitino' s Celtics beat Jordan's Bulls in opening night too.  Don't read to deep into it.  As close to an enjoyable Lakers win as you'll find though.
Yup
