Doc is not a good coach!

All those years of watching him screw up the C's every night and he still has defenders?

hmm, Clips played just like the Celts used to since the 2010 season.  what's the common link here?  hmmm, let me think on this one......  Oh, it's DOC.

Doc sucks and always has.  now people will see all the problems he had here were of his own making and not due to the roster issues.  He doesn't have the excuse of an old roster in Clipperland.

Yes guys, the Lakers bench will continue to score more than 70 points a night and the season will continue to go on just like this one game unfolded.

I don't think anyone is thinking this is the norm, but no one expected this tonight.

Indeed.

But this was ONE GAME.  All these bitter green goggle posts are kind of embarrassing.  Doc is not a bad coach, get real.

As I said, if you guys think the Lakers bench is going to score more than 70 points a game, good luck.

I'm not speaking for everyone on this response but it's not that people expect the Laker's bench to score 70 points every night, it's that a lot of other team's benches (and starters for that matter) will score a lot more than usual in the games against the Clips.

Doc is vastly overrated.   I've never understood how he gets the credit/respect he gets.

If this continues for a season, I will say it too because it'll be the reality.

You guys all jumping on this after one game (which seemed extremely flukey) is very premature.

This is a team that improved talent.  Are we saying Del Negro was a defensive guru?

Let's be real, having your starters beat up by some no names on the bench would be talked about, even if Doc wasn't coaching. We'd act the same way if they were playing the Heat.

During the pregame interviews Doc told reporters he had already started researching LA championship parades. Then to get beat like that pretty much writes the headlines for itself and deserves the criticism. You can't anoint yourself champs before even playing.

Doc is one of the best.   Snake oil salesmen"  In the NBA ,     He is a smooth talker,  one of the Mr Haney's of basketball

His strength is leaning on his stars ,  using them as his generals........ He is a user   ...making himself look ...  Most people who have open mind can see his weakness.

He also caters to whines a lot and loves massages egos with the best of them. .. ....Phil Jackson comes to mind ..

Without CP3 ...to run the team ...... As we saw last year.....Clippers can not do squat against anybody without CP3 on the court for most of the game . Doc might as well be in Siberia for all the good he does during a game...... It 90 percent what CP3 does on court that makes or breaks this team.

Clippers are totally dependent on CP3 on court leadership..... They sink or swim with him......Doc is just a media outlet bser. And ego babysitter.

Pitino' s Celtics beat Jordan's Bulls in opening night too.  Don't read to deep into it.  As close to an enjoyable Lakers win as you'll find though.
TP.

Clippers looked flat, especially later on in the game. It was curious that Doc went with essentially Matt Barnes as his third big man playing him at PF (or Dudley if you want to call him the PF).

Matching up with the Lakers and D'Antoni is one thing, but it certainly says what he thinks of his backup bigs.

Gotta feel sorry for Doc's backup big man options. Those guys are garbage. Ryan Hollins, Lou Amundson, Antawn Jamison and Byron Mullens. Awful. Ryan Hollins might be the best of the bunch. Either him or Amundson. Third stringers. And non-NBA players.

Clippers really shot themselves in the foot there.

They actually waived Amundson! I was shocked that they did.

But yeah his backup big men are pretty terrible, the posters who liked to scream about small ball at Doc are going to have a field day given their roster this year unless another trade is made.

I'd be shocked if they don't make a trade considering the wing depth between JJ, Dudley, Barnes, Crawford.  Being that thin up front something has got to give.

I think a lot of teams would want Crawford in particular.
