Rondo is actually a top tier all-star, borderline superstar when the playoffs come around. If you look at his position adjusted win score, two years ago, the only player who  had a higher number out of all 16 teams was Lebron. There are two different Rondos: regular season rondo and playoff rondo. They are two different animals.

Sully is a borderline superstar. I've gone into this before so I won't rehash, but he is david west reincarnated. May make two all-star teams.

Rondo...No, Rondo is not a top tier all-star. In fact, he'll be hard pressed to be an all-star in the PG loaded East with Williams, Rose, and Irving.

Sullinger...Absolutely not. Look, I love Sullinger, but there is no way on earth he'll ever be a borderline superstar unless he grows at least 4 inches and/or gains about 18 inches in leaping ability. Perhaps my opinion of a "borderline superstar" differs from most, but neither David West or a player who makes 2 all-star teams fit my criteria.

Yeah my tablet auto corrected. I meant sully will be borderline all star
Rondo:
regular:borderline all-star
playoff:borderline superstar
Sully:
future border-line all-star
Green:
above average player

Players to build a championship team around

1)Superstar

2)Borderline Superstar

Rondo

Is he "The Guy" to lead us to the "promised land"?  DA will probably have to be blown away to trade Rondo but you can bet he is listening and won't hesitate if he gets an offer he can't refuse...

3) All-Star

Green

Great athlete who falls a little short of being an All-Star.  Is he really a building block?  I like Green but i really think he is the 3rd best player on your team not the 2nd best and probably is overpaid to be the 3rd best player on your team...

4) Solid player

Bass

I like what Bass brings to the table but overpaid for a
re-build...Bass could fetch us something as shooting big men are always in demand and his defense is now almost considered elite if you look at the numbers thrown around...albeit with kg behind him...

Bradley

I think we have seen most of his upside though his jumper may improve and DA may let him walk...i hate to say it but AB is a bit of a one-trick pony...would be great on a contending team...not a re-build...

Olynyk

I hope he continues to surprise us

Sullinger

Probably our 2nd best player now after Rondo

5) Role player

Bogans

Great veteran presence but his $5M expiring contract makes him a trade candidate...can DA pull a rabbit out of his hat?

Brooks

Young scoring option off the bench

Crawford

Scoring option off the bench but his $2M contract means he will not be here for long

Faverani

2nd or 3rd string center at best but heck as they say you can't teach heighth and size...

Humphries

Will probably have solid number but not sure where he fits in and his $10M expiring contract makes him a trade candidate...can DA pull a rabbit out of his hat?

Pressey

2nd or 3rd string pg

Lee

Probably a little bit of a disappointment and prob makes too much to be traded

Wallace

Great intangibles and hustle but age not working in his favor and the $30M owed to him means he will be in Celtic green for a while

KNock most of them down a peg.  Rondo is an all-star at best.  Heading forward with the amount of guards in the league, he'll probably teeter around as a fringe all-star... if he recovers at all.

Green will never be an all-star.  He's a solid player.

Bass is a role player...arguably one with a bad contract.

Bradley is a role player if you ask me.  I think he's a long-term defensive specialist off the bench.

Oly/Sully have potential to be starters some day, but I wouldn't be shocked to see both long-term role players off the bench.

Couple of the guys you have listed as role players belong in the d-league.  A couple more are bench warmers.  Hump and Wallace are probably accurately ranked as role players, though.

This team is pretty devoid of talent.  Everyone is absolutely available.  The only "untouchable" trade asset on this team is our unprotected 2014 1st round pick.  Everything else can be had.  A few of them (Bass, Wallace, Lee) arguably have negative trade value due to their contracts.

I'm just confused what people want from Rondo? He's not going to ever lead the league in scoring just get over that. But he can average a triple-double in a playoff series! Only in Boston Rondo is not a star, in every other city he is FYI.

Only in Boston?  Are you sure?  Borderline superstars dont get trade offers for Brandon Knight and expiring contracts.   If anything Rondo gets less respect outside of Boston, didnt we just see that this offseason?

If you're using trade rumors to gauge his worth don't forget about the ones involving players like Dwight Howard or Dirk.

Rondo may be a diva but he's as blue collar as any PG in the league. Not mutually exclusive.
