Yeah, if you expect too much it will be a long season.
I have long ago come to the conclusion that we are now in rebuilding mode, that whatever games we do win will be a plus, and that it will be fun watching these kids develop and learn to work together.
I guess maybe it's an age thing, but many people such as myself reach a point in life where they live for each day, don't expect anything, and embrace the positive as a blessing.
I've lived through Celtics "lean years" before, so it's not a big struggle, beyond the fact that I hate to lose, (or see my teams lose), and I honestly think we'll be in better shape by spring than many people think.
If we're not better by spring, then the summer will bring about more changes, and in turn create more excitement and conjecture, which I actually find is one of the fun aspects about sports and blogging.
If nothing else we'll have a lot to talk about, (or complain about, as it were), and we'll be watching some of the key players and coaches of the future take shape before our eyes.
It's pretty easy to get discouraged under the conditions we're facing now, but also fairly easy to sit back, take a deep breath, take it all in stride, hope for the best, not expect too much, and be thankful for the good things that do happen.
It's temporary, everything is, and this team and organization has shown many times in the past that it can rise above any adversity that comes it's way ... this is no different.
There are plenty of positive things I've seen so far to be encouraged about, and I truly believe that, especially on the return of Rondo, this team will end the season with their heads held high and a much better record than most people think.
No matter what they'll still be fun to watch, they'll still be my beloved Celtics, and they'll still play each night with the pride and enthusiasm that have become the trademarks of this great franchise.
