No I'm joking.  But I'm all for the tank this year.  We are well on our way.  It's not like they will have to intentionally lose games.  This team is absolutely awful.  A couple mediocre vets surrounded by D-leaguers and future role players.  Even on the front page of this blog they are claiming Boston has a CEILING of "8th worst team in the league" IF Rondo plays.   I'm not fighting it... I'm looking forward to watching the young guys develop in no-pressure 48 minute garbage time.  I'm looking forward to seeing them lotto balls.  In 5 years if everything goes as planned, this team might be a contender again.

You can't really stress these individual preseason games.  This entire season is going to be packed with moral victories.

Oh, ok, that makes sense.  I mean, I can't say I fully agree, but I understand what you're getting at.

Myself, I loathe tanking.  I just think it is a slap in the face to the spirit of competition.  That, and I hate watching crappy play.  I am just finding myself having a really difficult time getting interested in this year's team.  They are definitely as you say, terrible.  I don't fault the players, and I will still root for them to win as many games as possible, but probably won't watch much.  I'll just end up angry and frustrated, as I know they'll lose far more than they'll win.

Realistically, the only thing that will probably keep my attention this season is Rondo, seeing how he comes back from injury, and how he fares as the team's undisputed "best player".  Jeff Green is bleh, and unless one o the rookies, or Sully, outperform expectations, there really isn't much to be excited about.

Nobody likes losing.  I'd prefer to win immediately.  But Boston is working on the long con here... trying to put together a young contender that can stay at that level for an extended period.  It takes time.  We'll be horrible for a few years, but in the meantime you can enjoy the moral victories like "Sully pulled down 10 boards tonight!" and "Oly had 15 points!".

Best thing to me was Crawford continues to not jack up wild shots, play under control, and play hard on defense.  He could be a real surprise player.

It also seems like the team has no offensive identity yet and isn't trying to establish one by repeatedly going to certain players.

The best things for me this pre-season have been that we are forcing a lot of turnovers, that we have a high assist to shots made ratio, a high assist to turnover ratio, that we are getting a lot of open three point attempts, and that we are getting more field goal attempts than our opponents.

This roster is not that good.   But they play hard and I find them entertaining none the less.   Rookies are playing unlike the Doc Era.
