Jeff Green simply doesn't know how to create good shots. When having a hot hand, he has the body and explosiveness to force difficult shots into the basket. At other times, he's just not a real offensive threat. I'd take Gerald Wallace over Jeff Green if not considering age and contract.

Its just one pre-season game... Chill out...

If Green doesn't do this in any actual season game, and disappears I'll be shocked and confused... Okay maybe not as shocked, but confused as to all the hype around him.

please don't start this its just one game argument. Its not just one game. It is what it is. All last season you apologist kept saying wait wait. There is no reason to wait. This are well paid professionals that should come to play every day.

LOL, you're probably the type of person that when you get a little scratch on you, you think you're gonna die.

It's one game, pre-season game at that.
Jeff Green took a day off, maybe still on vacation mode.

He played 23 minutes 6 points 2 blocks 1 steal 1 rebound and 2 assist.

And he was not even trying at all tonight.
He took a night off, get over it.

good gobs of goo. why the heck should anyone make a thread such as this based upon the FIRST pre-season game and throw out green's entire career?

one game. first game. pre-season game. nothing to conclude based solely on this.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I didn't like the trade (Perkins for Green) back then and I still don't like it. I know the majority do, so I will get a lot of flak for this, but I think Green is more hype than substance.

For me i do understand the op in that one game Jeff Green taking a game off is a game too many.

He has a pattern of taking several games off, and when everyone is pointing fingers, putting a show for several games after that. People are nervous now without KG, PP and need him to "lead" the team.

Its also the way he played more than his lack of good production that bothered me. He didn't take into the basket strong and reverted to just playing the hot potatoe game on top of the key.

He has to realize at this rate, next sec you know, Gerald Wallace will steal his sf starting job. There is time obviously but he has to play with more consistentcy/urgency

I agree....my opinion isn't based on just this game....I've never thought he was that good. He's a decent 4th option imo he can't create his own shot . Its either catch and shoot  or one dribble to the hoop...no "in-between game"

This is also the Jeff Green who had 1 point against the Magic and shot 0 for 9. Green has good games and bad ones also. He is not a beast, but he is no where near being a scrub. Some people here treat him like he is the greatest ever while others make him seem like he is Adam Morrison.

I bet your the type that doesn't get tired of apologizing. The same type that think Green did well in the play-offs last season. You saw Jeff Green not trying I saw him being ineffective and having his confidence shrink with every miss, turnover, and stuffed drive. That's been his MO since he's been in Boston let's not pretend. As Ogaju said this isn't a 1 game occurence. I think most objective fans came to the same conclusion as the OP a while ago.

not a hype but his problem is more on the consistency basis..
we got random rando and now we got random green...

but some of the guys here are over acting after 1 pre season game... what's next? "we could have get J Smith or we could have traded ROndo for B. Knight thread?"

"Its just one game" argument has become pretty stale when it comes to Jeff Green. Can't believe people haven't found a new rebuttal yet.
